the basic idea is this: during captain kirk's 5 year mission starfleet gets the idea to create a kind of time capsule for humanity, in case the federation gets overthrown, and starts to work out a plan to colonize a world in orbit of one of the rare stars in between the arms of the milkyway, far from known space, far from unwanted attention.

a secret operation is started, codenamed 'Brave New World'. thousands of tonnes of resources are spent, thousands of individuals are recruited to start the great adventure.

after a year, it is finally ready. a huge colonization ship, more than a mile long, with warp nacelles so huge that several constitution classes could easily parked between them, gets assembled in orbit around the moon, and the ship becomes manned by the best individuals mankind had to offer, off which remarkably many are members of section 31.

the ship embarks on a great voyage. with several support ships hitching a ride in it's warpfield it set off for a journey of 70 years, filled with biostacis cells with people sleeping in it for longer than they would ever even have expected to live.

70 year later the vessel arrives at the dreamed new home. soon it turned out that their hopes had been futile... federation technology back then was not very accurate, and where there was thought to be a rich and fertile planet, there was only an icy world, unsuitable to colonize.

after fierce internal struggles and disputes over what to do next, the search went on, to find a new home for humanity...


we are people on the great ship, searching for a new home and struggling to survive in a strange and oppressive empty part of space.



(NOTE 1: for people who haven't got a clue what kind of an RPG this would be, read this. it's basically like writing fan fiction with multiple people.)

(NOTE2: ubering is TOTALLY NOT DONE, naturally.)
