Listen. You don't have to leave. Everyone is entitled to their opinions. But I did think it was rude to call Data's girlfriend a "toy." A girlfriend is not a toy. A girlfriend is a human being. Look, I can understand your opinion. I see it all the time. But it doesnt always happen. Some people have a relationship that lasts for years. Some kid I know has a girlfriend thats been with him for nearly 4 years and theyre STILL going strong. I think theyll end up taking their relationship to college.

i wasn't just calling his GF a toy, i'm calling all of us toys and please don't give me that human being BS. i understand that it doesn't happen all the time too, i know two people who have been dating over five years and i highly doubt they'll stop, that wasn't my point. you all jumped the gun and misinterpreted what i was saying and gave the typical teenage response to go immature and defensive and angry. i understand that too, though it would be nice to see you guys grow up and get out of that delusion of happy life that you all have but whatever. what i am doing is getting everyone to question, question their motives, being and personalities. instead you all decide to crawl further into your little boxes on the pretense that i was attacking you. again, typical teenage response. no, I'm making sure that data knows what he's doing, and, what his GF is doing. and if it makes you feel better, i'll use the word pawn next time. see, pretty much all high school romances are just as i described them, toys, playthings. they want something to help cure their sexual cravings/curiosities, so they "date" and break up the moment something actually emotionally serious happens, i see it all the time. I'm not saying data can't be that 1 in 10, in fact, i'm encouraging that he be that way by looking at things simply and truthfully, and that is by asking himself the questions why am i doing this and what do i want from this. then looking at things seriously and not in that romantic love crazed fogged vision and say, why is she doing this and what does she want from this. and if you can't answer those questions, or you come up with the answer of simply "we love each other" then you are doomed to failure.

i know that. i just wanted to see this through, i don't like leaving something halfway through. i apologize for being cold, but it is my nature and will to be cold. if t makes ou all feel beter, i could go and list off my faults and my observations of myself. and toa, you actualy don't really know how i see things and feel about things. we had one discussion which described about 10% of how i feel about things, there's a lot about me that would surprise you, and even perhaps the reasons I am the way I am.

I'm just protective of my friends, not like you can't do this and that, but like to people who try and harm them. I guess dispite all the training i put myself though to contain my anger I still fail sometimes. I hope you'll stay 99% of the time i like your presence on the forum it would be awful dull without you.

Anyway, DW, I agreed with your point, I simply felt that it came off rather cold. I understand a little bit of your coldness, as I am that way as well, to a degree. However, since people find me rude, and my coldness depresses me, I hide it under a different persona. You don't, which is admirable to me.
In any case, I do hope you will stay. Friends fight all the time, after all, which is nice because it shows we don't all share a brain. The fact that you and Data both took it so personally shows me you have become friends to a certain degree, and that, if nothing else, is something to value.
Besides, you here at the gathering are among the few I trust and respect, so I would really hope you wouldn't leave. Among other thing, you are one of the people I relate to on this site.

i didn't take it personally, i looked at it objectively and deemed that if this was a place that hampers the use of opinions, that it was illogical to be here. and don't get me going on about friends now! that's one you probably really don't want to hear. actually, it's sort of funny, at work the other day, I was finally given a performance appraisal/review, and the only thing they could find "wrong" with me was that I was cold, and instead of suggesting things to other staff working for me, I ordered them. of course i have a cold personality and it shows, but also my view is you don't suggest things to staff, because then they'll just say no and walk away, you have to order them, it seems it's the way people are. i personaly could care less if they or anyone liked me or not.
