New 3D model collection
I decided to make a new topic to which I could post my completed stuff that might actually have improved from before.
First off, the Firestorm class Capital Ship: Firestorm
Deadly vessel with a large cannon on the front meant to take energy from ship shields on other ships, and then converting it to some type of different energy or mass to which this slams it back at them, very devastating.

Re: New 3D model collection
Two new ships I wanted to introduce to you all.
The Stardust Class Super Star Dreadnought
Bested only by the Demoralizer class Dominant Star Dreadnought, the Stardust is an impressive strike between firepower of an SSD and the manueverability that is usually sacrificed even more from the Divinity Class Capital Ship, speaking of which.
The Divinity Class Capital Ship
is the mainline capital ship for the Imperial Sovereignty. It's an all-purpose ship capable of fighting all types of units with ease, however, it is not as maneuverable as a frigate and it's more focused on anti-frigate or higher capabilities than really being able to fend of corvettes and smaller.

Re: New 3D model collection
Adding new designs under my belt, I've come up with even BETTER looking stuff, in my opinion anyway.
(Most of these are ships from my previous posts made better looking.)
Say hello to the Leviathan Class Legion Carrier Capital Cruiser. (Rolls off the tongue, doesn't it? )
Leviathan
And then there's the other stuff...
Divinity
Demoralizer
Thanks for viewing!
Oh, and as a treat, the Imperial Sovereignty's Symbol REMASTERED!
Previous version was this, and it needed a serious overhaul...

Re: New 3D model collection
I got a new program to replace Blender, 3Ds Max, still trying to figure out how to use it...bleh.
But still, seems much more powerful in it's job than Blender. I'm keeping blender to access the older models for archival reasons.

Re: New 3D model collection
Been playing with 3ds max now and I think I got all the editing controls I need to know down, sort of.
Here's one of my test models that I made while learning how to use it.
No, don't ask me what it is, cause I don't know...
Yes, I know it's been a long while between me getting it and actually showing a pic, I only just recently started using it in hopes of learning how to...

Re: New 3D model collection
I've re-ignited my own interest in trying to learn about 3ds max, and I've learned quite a few new things.
Here is another mediocre test model however.

Re: New 3D model collection
I believe you should post it, but maybe in another thread. This is kind of Quantum's creations thread, so making your own would be better.

Re: New 3D model collection
This next update is via Blender, as I take a break from an unfamiliar program to something I've longer since used.
This is a space station, to which I have tried before and failed... miserably, I now revisit this area of space and I would like to think that I have done a far better job this time.
Also with this post, we shall be exploring past WIP's that will probably never be finished.
First up is this one, who didn't last long enough in my critical eyes to be worthy of a catmul clark transformation (It's what makes the models smooth and such.) WIP 1
This second model is not too bad, but not good either, in my opinion. WIP 2
The third model here is based off an old idea, and is probably the best one of this collection for its purpose. However, it did not make the cut quite where I needed it to be. WIP 3
This fourth model made me forget where my head was, and shall be named the headless fightercraft. Where does the pilot sit, where is the front of the craft? The world may never know... WIP 4

Re: New 3D model collection
Are you modeling with rotoscopes by any chance?

Re: New 3D model collection
Well, given that I have absolutely no idea what that is/means, I'd have to say no.
Re: New 3D model collection
Rotoscopes.
Basically, you have multiple direct angles and you model straight from that. It's one of the prime ways to model as it ensures more accuracy and allows you to really advance in skill

Re: New 3D model collection
Rarely, actually, but sometimes I do. I like larger, singular screens for modelling.
I usually use it as a means of showing multiple angles in my screenshots, much more efficient.

That's how I model, I just split the screens for the screenshot. But I would highly recommend using rotos to model (as will many professionals, trust me!)
