Chapter One
First topic message reminder :
The beautiful land of Iridia has a wealth of races and incredible beauty about it - and, of course, war beginning amongst the various factions that have now appeared - some time ago, several people appeared amongst this land, with heavensent powers and a natural ability to lead, that brought about several empires of their own. The goblin tribes formed under one banner to produce the nation of Gha^zhakh, the slaves of the Golden Horde threw off their shackles and formed the advanced kingdom of dragon-fall, and the Gal'gai of Alsland have allied with the Giants of Jotunsøy. these empires appear to be gathering forces, and what this will result in, no one can tell...

Re: Chapter One
~Sudurland~
Mardon departs for Sudurheim, and returns later with a scepter made from a strange, milky-colored metal. It is jewel-encrusted, and ends in a diamond tip. "Give this to your king." He says. "I'm sure he will enjoy it."

In front of the goblin lines, the ranks opened up. 10 chariots, massive things holding 4 goblins and 3 wolves apiece, rode forth to push back the lightblades, a wolfrider in-between each. a mixture of archers and lancers were atop the chariots, thought the riders themselves were almost entirely lancers. It seemed the goblin commander had been careful enough to avoid a sneak attack.
Elsewhere, the wolf-riders fought hard with the heavyblades, using the terrain to their advantage as they were forced on the defensive. The goblin shortbows, while effective against most living things, for the most part did minimal damage to the hoverblades themselves, but more to the pilots they carried. Scimitar met scimitar in close combat, but the superior range of the goblin spears allowed them to match better in such direct combat, even though at a range they found themselves a bit in trouble. The only other advantage was that the wolves, while less durable than their riders, were able to crouch, dive, and jump to the side of blows, able to not only react better than a simple hovercraft in such situations, but with all the reflexes and speed of a predator, not to mention not needing to distract their riders while doing so.
The lightblades seemed to be covering for several dozen more Heavyblades, with a different type of passenger. As the lightblades may have been easier targets for the chariots, the heavybladers seemed to conjure up stone spikes from underneath the goblins, and even some were shocked literally as the skies unleashed their fury upon them.
On the other front, the heavyblades kept mobile, with one half engaging them directly with their dual riders and the other half held back and attacking them at a range, utilizing the water as a terrain advantage as wolf riders are not likely to swim so well. While those directly engaging the wolf riders suffered some, with the ranged attackers and the Aurisium flagship providing covering fire, the goblins were entirely outmatched.

Sona would charge, taking advantage of the weakness and adeptly dodging through the skeletons, destroying or crippling most that got in his way, before moving in at the cargul, coming down at him with a slice of his blade.

While a few goblins and one chariot was entirely destroyed by the magics, the sturdiness of the chariots themselves left them more-or-less intact as the chariots clashed against them, when they were struck in the first place, their somewhat erratic, bouncy movements hard to account for. The spears, bows, and vicious ramming of the very large and vicious wolves would hit the lines hard, and any who got near the sides of the chariots would find that the vicious blades serving on the sides of the wheel made the idea unappetizing.

Re: Chapter One
The Aurisium forces kept at the goblins, utilizing their superior numbers to group up on the chariots and wolf riders. While they may outmanuever one, two would give them pause. Pause long enough for the heavyblades to strike with their magic and/or swordsmen. (Pause as in outflanking or herding in this case.) Meanwhile, the heavyblades at sea kept up with their supporting via ranged attacks, focusing on the chariots. While this tactic lead to losses, victory was still assured in their eyes, and morale did not falter.

The Cargul screeched and batted him away with a strike of his armored gauntlet but as the tides of battle turned all around all of the war clerics encircled the Cargul. They began chanting thunder cracked from the sky lighting flashed. Their chanting increased shackles made of light bound the Cargul and it let out another blood curdling screech. The with a stroke of his hammer Arathor stuck the ground a beam of light fell from the heavens and the Cargul screech one final time and after the blinding light cleared all that was left was a pile of ash and the Cargul's sword.
King Hammershot rested leaning on one of his guards for support. He was fatigued and covered in blood but none of it appeared to be his own.
Arkin approached and leaned on the haft of his axe.
Arkin: There is a sorcerer and a sorceress in the tower they are now doubt to blame for these events. They have barricaded them self at the top of the tower hiding behind a vanguard of hill trolls.
Hammershot: One last push my friend and victory will be ours. I pray that the cost is not to high.
*bodies of men orcs and goblins litter the field between the walls Hammershot enters the tower with the Iron guard and a group of his men*

Re: Chapter One
The chariots back-goblins, apparently used to enemy fire from behind, gave a short yelp every time a attack was aimed at them, giving the chariot a sudden start that helped keep their attacks afloat. While the heavyblades might outmaneuver them in numbers, the goblin spears helped keep any close confrontation at bay, one goblin on each side striking out, with a pair of archers further back in the carriages firing as fast as their shortbows could - this type of close-range, mounted confrontation is exactly what the speedy bows were made to resolve, with a surprising amount of power in their shots.

"magicians..." Sona said with some annoyance in his voice, shaking his head. "the lure of magic overcame their morality, it seems. Happens quite often in the untamed parts of the world."
