Directorate Naval Forces

The Directorate Naval Forces are split into two main group, the regulars forces referred to as the Directorate Navy, the majority oh which is made up of reformed and upgraded Imperial Navy units; and a paramilitary force known as the People's Liberation Navy. The People's Liberation Navy serves mostly as a militia and is not normally deployed for offensives, it is made up of the old sector defense fleets, that didn't leave with the Moffs, and the ships built by the rebels during the Revolution, it is not well standardized and though officially grouped by sector the actual units are mostly localized on the planetary level*.


Directorate Navy Organization:

The Directorate Navy's main battle unit is the Fleet of nearly 1000 ships which is subdivided into multiple groups of several different types of squadrons which are listed below. Directorate Fleets are denoted using a numbering system such as I Fleet, II Fleet and so on. Directorate Squadrons, which occasionally act independently or in small groups when the deployment of a whole fleet is not necessary, are labeled based on the fleet they are under and their type so Squadron VII-A1 would be the first assault squadron of fleet VII; all squadrons are made of seven ships, sometimes of one class and sometimes mixed.

The Assertor is by far the largest and most powerful ship in the Directorate's standard deployment, serving as the flagship of it's fleet.
