“Unfortunately, they did not have one.” He stated, looking over the janitor’s shoulder to confirm his directions mentally. Now there was just the matter of blending in without magic…
--Unknown World--
Leon walked up cautiously toward the creature, pistol ready in his free hand as he kept himself aware of his surroundings. So it takes a shot to the head to kill them. He thought, as he used the opportunity provided by the creature to learn how to combat his potential enemy.
--Gothis Orbit--
The Hive Ship activates its telekinetic powers once more, managing to deflect the torpedoes utilizing similar abilities to the Rachni. The Collective fleet presses on still, taking light losses via the Thanix cannons by comparison to the Turians.
--Gothis Land--
Despite the Collective Troops hunkering in and luring the enemy to them, several were still dieing, while some managed to put up a fight.

The pilot looked at the kiwi incredulously, as if annoyed. She hands the drawing to the kiwi, as if emphasizing it.
--Konnsallann Station--
Cross was annoyed, at first, to the interruption, but then intrigued by the report she overheard. She remained silent, however, waiting to see if anyone would even remember her presence and what they would say in explanation.

(On hold until JL either gets Victoria II or managed to talk to me on Skype to discuss where to go from here.)

Re: Chapter Three
--Aves--
"The Ankara is designed to support our mechs. We are capable combatants but not warships by any means. With a limited drone compliment and heavy-grade weapons with light point-defenses, our armor is what fails us. I would be grateful if I could avoid large-scale frontline combat." Cavara explained, staring at an angle, emptily, holding his head up with his hand around his chin. "I suppose we could take on an Imperium capital class, but our odds of survival are low."
--Marenta Prime--
(Still behind in the time when the Absolution takes place.)
Jaxe smirks as a handful of the AI footsoldiers that rushed ahead were gunned down. The enemy was more courageous than expected. He held out his hand and called on his powers of 'persuasion.' In front of the soldier's eyes, the door began to crumple, collapsing in on itself as it was violently pulled from its original position to hovering above Jaxe's head. "Hello insects." He said coolly, as the Excaliburs to either side began firing their plasma-beam cannons at the fortified soldiers.
--Ruhen--
As they approached, and entered the atmosphere, all that met their eyes was desert as far as the eye could see. Ahead of them, however, was a large, Grecco-Roman style city, almost perfectly preserved and laid bare, as if the desert refused to devour it. All around them, however, was nothing but yellow sand and, in the distance, they could see a rather large sandstorm making its way towards the ruins.
--Anima Prime--
While the stairs were empty for the time-being, they wouldn't be for much longer as the footsteps sounded further up the spiral. The demons knew they were there and would be upon them in just a few more minutes. They would have to act fast to avoid a battle.
--Reactor #4--
The creatures almost leaped up at the mist, as if desiring to devour it, but they did not advance still. Xirce stopped at the entrance and looked, staring at the display in front of his eyes. "... Well that's different." He stated bluntly, walking back down the metal staircase. "What could possibly be keeping them at bay?"

~Marenta Prime~
Fortunately by this time the mobile shield had been activated. Unfortunately, the plasma beams overwhelmed it soon afterwards. Some of the soldiers furthest from the shield had time to quickly roll away, but the men at the front were hit with the full force of the enemy fire. The surviving Gal'Gai retreat further down the hall and a second set of blast doors is closed, about 10 feet from the original entrance. This time, two turrets are set up, as well as several mobile shields overlapping each other, already activated.

"If those orders remain a part of our interests, then yes, she will. She and I are from the same world, however, total loyalty is not something I can just offer freely." Genesis replied sternly.
--Marenta Prime--
"Oh come now, hiding behind such crude walls, that's not at all warrior-like." Jaxe taunted them, crushing this barrier much the same way as the previous, and then the Excaliburs opened fire once more. All remaining AI infantry hung back behind the three-man fireline, awaiting a chance or new orders.

Azrael looked at the doorway that led back onto the stair case, then looked over at Lae who was looking at Azrael as if to say 'what now, genius?' Azrael looked back at the doorway and vanished, using his invisibility bubble again. Lae quickly hit his cloaking device and braced himself between the walls with his hands and feet and pulled himself up to the ceiling, facing downward, hoping the guards would pass beneath him without stopping.
--Reactor 4--
Xyphus quickly opened his hand and released his grip on the storm's direction, letting the mist go in the opposite direction again. He stood there, staring at the creatures curiously. Then he began walking toward them, away from the reactor. He slowly took a couple steps toward the creatures, but kept his weapons at the ready.

Re: Chapter Three
--Anima Prime--
The demons stopped at the doorway and turned, staring into the apparently empty path, scanning it with their eyes and senses. The leader, not the one from before, spoke in an alien tounge, which seemed more like low growls and slight gibberish to the rest. Four demons moved down the hallway, cautiously, scanning idly. The rest remained at the entrance, watching their comrades.
--Reactor #4--
"I wouldn't shake the hornet's nest, stormcloud." Xirce stated matter-of-factually. As Xyphus slowly approached the creatures, they riled up, attempting to claw at him, but not moving forward from their current positions regardless.

Lae stayed as silent as he possibly could, breathing in very long and slow breaths. He stared down at the group who were walking through the hall beneath him, and did not move a muscle.
Up the staircase, Azrael was now SPRINTING to the top since he had managed to slip out just before the patrol made it to the door way. He stopped for one moment, realizing that he hadnt been followed... by anyone. Lae was still back there, but he didnt hear any commotion. "...I'm sure he can handle it... I'm sure I'd have heard an explosion by now if he was in any trouble." Azrael mumbled. He continued sprinting up the stairs.
--Reactor 4--
Xyphus raised an eyebrow at their combination of aggression and fear. "Hrmm..." He pondered. He walked over to the group and grabbed the nearest creature by the arm and literally began dragging it through the snow toward the reactor. He watched the creature as he dragged it to see if it would start to panic and try to escape, or if it would become aggressive.

Re: Chapter Three
--Anima Prime--
The demons were obviously going to take their time as the quartet moved slowly forward, scanning and even checking some of the rooms to either side. Said rooms were empty, and by the time they had reached the rubble at the end, Lae's muscles were probably screaming at him in pain. They looked around more, being thorough, and then began walking toward the exit, to search above and below the current level.
As Azrael ran up, he would pass, while still cloaked, several demon patrols. It was almost unusual, given the battle outside, and begs the question of how so many creatures could be housed in this tower.
--Reactor #4--
As Xyphus dragged the creature toward the reactor, the creature actually started to disintegrate, fading into nothingness. In its place, another appeared at the invisible barrier. Xirce watched the events with curiosity. While he couldn't feel emotion, he knew logically that such an event was abnormal. "... Quite the electric fence they have here..."

Lae gritted his teeth as his arms and legs burned. He held himself in place for a long time. He kept telling himself, 'just a little longer. just a little longer.' Even after a great while, he held on. However, a point came that enough was enough. His grip against the walls slipped and he fell to the floor. As he did, he shouted a profanity, and his cloaking field failed, and the device stopped producing one at all because of this. He sat up and quickly tried to take in how the demons were reacting.
Azrael passed the patrols, silently pondering why there were so many demons in the tower. However, he continued to the top until he reached the control room.
--Reactor 4--
Xyphus looked at all the creatures around the reactor, trying to decide what to do. "Did they want us to exterminate them, or were we simply sent here to have a look around?" He shouted over his shoulder.

Re: Chapter Three
--Anima Prime--
At first, Lae's landing on the four demons produced an oddly comical scene as the others took a step back and pondered the situation momentarily. That is, until the rest aimed their weapons and fired at Lae, uncaring for the fallen comrades beneath him.
In a few moments, Azrael would have reached the peak, as the staircase leveled out and ended in a hallway, with a large, metal, double-door with no handles. Inside, he could hear several demons, including the commander. With his senses, he could detect even more.
--Reactor #4--
Xirce paused for a moment, analyzing the situation. "Our orders were to investigate the reactor. If they aren't inside, then I don't see why we should bother playing exterminator. Besides, they keep coming back... They are a waste of time." Xirce said, somewhat coldly, fitting the scenery around them. He walked toward the door and forced it open, entering the ice-cold, all-metal reactor.

Lae quickly crawled for one of the other doorways for cover, knowing he was in a heap of trouble. He looked around for a means of escape, but found nothing available. He was trapped like a rat. He drew his shortsword, preparing for a fight, but suddenly felt overwhelmed by the presence within him. He was overcome with intense pain all over his body and fell to his hands and knees.
YOU ARE USELESS! YOU CONTINUE TO ENDANGER US AND FAIL AT EVERY TURN! I HAVE NO USE FOR A VESSEL THAT ONLY SEEKS ITS OWN DESTRUCTION!
In the area around them, the lights would begin to flicker, and computerized machines would begin acting erratically. The demons would even find themselves in a similar state as what Daniel was in: completely debilitated by pain. In moments, Lae would black out.
Azrael looked around noticing a slight irregularity on the air. He didn't know what exactly it was, but he knew something was wrong. He quickly dashed for the door, wanting to end this particular part of the mission quickly so he could get back down the stairs. He ran up to the door, and actually knocked on it, then stepped off to the side and pressed himself against the wall next to it.
--Reactor 4--
Xyphus eyed the creatures and pointed at them. "You stay out here, got it?" He said firmly, as if they would actually understand. He turned around and followed Xirce into the reactor.

Re: Chapter Three
--Anima Prime--
"Check that noise." A voice commanded from within, as demons approached the door. The commander went back to conversing with another speaking english as well. As the demons opened the door, Azrael could finally hear what they were saying. "He has been freed finally?" "Yes, sir, and the other fights us at the base of the tower." "Excellent."
The demons walked in, scanning the area, and seeing no one about. Two more continued forward to check for any entities. "I trust the portal facilities were preserved as requested?" The other voice sounded, the commander. "Although we encountered resistance in clearing out the ones who took shelter there," The commander started, "we did as you had asked." "Very good..." As Azrael probably entered when the path was clear, and the demons were just about returning inside the room, he would see the commander conversing with a larger, silhouette of some sort. Not many details aside from the glowing red eyes could be depicted, other than its humanoid form. "You may begin evacuating the other facilities. Our time on this world has been concluded." The form spoke, and the commander bowed. "Yes, master." And then the form disappeared, as the commander turned to look out a large window which encompassed the entire wall. He observed the battle, and it was still a toss-up as to who would win. "I do not appreciate trespassers, assassin." He spoke plainly, turning and looking at Azrael. Araman smiled mischievously. "You thought I didn't know? Quite a trick you pulled there, truly."
The other demons were helpless against such an oppressive force, unable to stand back up of their own volition.
--Reactor #4--
What greeted them was the sound of loud machinery, a consistent whirring noise of some sort, and the overwhelming green glow and, below them, green lakes of an unknown substance. "... Hmm. Well, the reactor seems to be functioning... so why...?" Xirce started, ending his statement as he climbed down a ladder to the causeway below. "Hmm..."

Azrael smirked, then let his invisibility fade. "What trick? I just assumed everyone here was deaf." He stated in a professional voice, despite the fact he was obviously taunting the demons he sneaked past. "So, who's your friend you were talking to?" He inquired out of a genuine curiosity.
--Reactor 4--
Xyphus followed Xirce through the reactor, remaining relatively silent, until he brought attention to the fact that everything was working fine. "You think Xemnas and Saix just needed some alone time?" Xyphus inquired matter-of-factually.

"A pompous [censored], put bluntly. But we aren't here about him, we're here for entirely dissimilar reasons. You are here to rescue all of those precious citizens and 'attempt' to kill me. I am here for reasons I will not reveal to the likes of you. You've heard enough as it is, after all." The demons teleported out of the room in a haze of black smoke, any that were alive at least. "And I have fulfilled mine. As well, I truly don't feel like challenging another assassin... Especially one that would collapse a ceiling onto me." Araman reaches into his pocket and throws a keychain at Azrael. "So knock yourself out. They're two levels down. Oh, and the timer is ticking I'm afraid, so I would hurry if I were you." Araman disappears in a similar fashion to the rest of the demons that vanished. "Fifteen minutes." A whisper spoke, as alarms rang out across the tower and outside.
--Reactor #4--
Xirce grimaced, or at least imitated such. "I would rather avoid such thoughts..." He stated, scanning the room and then walking to the next. "Though I'm inclined to agree..." He said, entering a room with rows upon rows of empty, open pods. "... I am also inclined to ask what the hell is this?"

Azrael caught the keychain. "Pleasure doing business with you." He said pleasantly. He immediately turned and sprinted down the stairs to the floor where the prisoners were. He looked around and found the cells and quickly began releasing them, shouting "GO! GET DOWN THE STAIRS!" After he was able to release what he believed to be the last one, he ran down the stairs after them and came upon the scene on the level Lae was. When he saw the bodies of demons lying on the ground, he started to get an idea of what he sensed only a few minutes ago.
"Damn it, Lae." He cursed. "You're supposed to be the stealthier one."
He quickly stepped over the bodies and looked in one of the door ways and found Lae unconscious.
"You [censored]..." Azrael groaned, realizing he was going to have to carry him down all the stairs. He picked him up and threw Lae over his shoulders in a fireman carry, and began jogging down the stairs after the prisoners.

Xyphus sighed. "Of course they're doing weird [censored] behind the stage..." He stated as he walked closer to investigate the obviously-out-of-place pods.

As the prisoners stormed out through an opening made by Regnum squad, who ventured into the tower to ascertain what the alarms were about and instead met a flocking crowd. They escorted them out, still uncertain as to what the alarm was about.

"There was nothing in the report about any projects or anything like this..." He said, checking the pods and the connected pipes. "They're also recent... someone did this... and it seems that this is the cause of the malfunction." He reported, tracing the pipes to their origins. "Though the reasons... I couldn't say." He called upon a hardlight lance and punctured one of the pipes. As he did so, green mist sprayed out from the breach. "If I had to guess, these would store something and this green mist would submerge them..." He stated, closing the pipe with a valve nearby.

After the last of the prisoners came running out of the hole, Azrael followed with Lae over his shoulders and searched for Regnum squad in the panicking masses, hoping that they had a way out of the place soon.
--Reactor 4--
Xyphus reached up to the puncture and caught some of the mist in his hand. He then brought his hand back down and looked at it. Nothing changed, and the substance caused a surprisingly soothing sensation. He stared at it only a moment then wiped off on his coat. "I would say that we should ask about this," Xyphus stated. "but seeing as our leader has always been shady, I'm more inclined to not care."

Re: Chapter Three

Regnum had escorted the prisoners to an open area, surrounded by small, glowing pylons. "Only so many at a time, no pushing, and don't rush!" Pike could be heard yelling at the crowd. "Hey, no pushing me either!" The others were attempting to keep control of the entire issue. To the side, however, there was a group of people conversing to themselves. Their tattered attire pinned them as more prisoners, though they seemed quite calm and collected unlike the others.
--Reactor #4--
"I would agree, were our orders not contrary to that." Xirce said, studying the green liquid on his hands. "Although... this is truly abnormal. I remember they said that these reactors power our world via remote connections. Reactor #4, it would seem, is not directing any of its collected energy to the castle... these pods are the reason why. Though I wonder who put them here... ..." He looked up at the door at the top of the middle staircase. It was closed and barricaded. "I also wonder what's behind door number two."

Azrael stopped for a moment, a bit surprised that they were still as close to the tower as they were. He quickly ran over to the Regnum members who were trying to maintain order. When they saw Azrael's face, it would be obvious he was not happy. "Damn it, we need to MOVE! NOW!" He exclaimed. "We have less than fifteen minutes, unless a transport will be here in the next few seconds, haul [censored]!"
--Reactor 4--
Xyphus looked up at the door with a shadow of dread, despite the fact he could really FEEL it. "My better judgement says we should just report back." He stated simply.

Re: Chapter Three

As another batch of prisoners were teleported out of the designated area that Regnum was trying to contain, Leon looked at Azrael with a mild curiosity. "Fifteen minutes until self-destruction?" He guessed, given that even out here you could still hear alarms. The prisoners who heard Azrael's outbursts doubled their efforts to get onto the transport pad, causing some members to use a little more force.
--Reactor #4--
"..." Xirce looked at the door, and then felt almost the same way as Xyphus did. "... You're probably right..." He finally admitted, staring at the door a few moments longer. "We should go report our findings. Let an official team take care of the issue." He stated, taking out a black gem-like object from his pocket and placing it at his current position. "And let's give them an easier way in." He said. The object was a standard marker for Dark Corridors to appear at. This would allow further teams to transport in more accurately. Once he set up the mechanical-gem to send out the appropriate signal, he stood up and nodded at Xyphus. "Mission complete."

Azrael watched the teleportation occur, then felt like an idiot for his outburst. It would be plainly obvious on his face he knew how dumb he just made himself look. He simply said, "Need to ask?" in response to Leon's question. He set Lae down the ground and sat next to his unconscious body. "What should we do with the kid? Send him with one of the civie groups?"
--Reactor 4--
Xyphus turned and stared at the door one last time, then turned to walk out, mumbling "I think we've only just gotten started..."

"We don't have enough time to transport them all..." He tapped on the comm in his ear, and spoke into it. "This is Regnum Squad requesting direct evacuation by air. The spire is reportedly about to self-destruct. Confirm." He spoke into it, rather calm about the whole situation. Unusually so. A voice came from the comm, undecipherable to anyone who isn't wearing it. "Negative, arrive sooner or not at all." He said, as the voice came in again. "... I understand." He finally said, then looked at Azrael. "The frigates are reportedly damaged due to unpredicted anti-air. All air support is in need of repairs and they have no means to send any our way within the allotted time." He nodded to the rest of Regnum squad, and they let several more prisoners enter the premises, to be spirited away. "I suggest we run." Leon said, as Regnum began sheparding what was left of the crowd as far away from the spire as possible.
--Reactor #4, exterior--
As they exited the reactor, the creatures surrounding the towering structure were still present... and agitated. "... Persistent rabbits, aren't they?" Xirce spoke rhetorically. Then shrugged. "I don't have time for this..." He said, calling up a Dark Corridor.

Azrael facepalmed, since that was precisely what he had suggested only moments ago. He stood up and was about to pick Lae up when he started to stir. Azrael knelt down and shook him. "Get up, kid, we need to move!" He exclaimed.
Lae was dazed and he didnt understand what was going on immediately. "Huh... what?"
Azrael grabbed his arm and pulled him to his feet, then smacked him on the back. "RUN IF YOU DONT FANCY BEING COOKED MEDIUM-WELL!" Azrael sprinted past him, and Lae followed simply out of the urgency in his voice.

Xyphus walked through the portal and paid no mind to the army of creatures vying for their heads.

~Marenta Prime~
As the SRI infantry behind the second set of blast doors are killed, three Marentanz, who had been calling on the Force for speed, appear behind the idling AI footsoldiers, and engage them. One of them fires a compact, taser-like device at one of the Excalibur mechs. It discharges a bolt of what appears to be plasma, and when it hits, the plasma seeps into the nearest crack in the plating, with no physical damage done.
