Leon walked up cautiously toward the creature, pistol ready in his free hand as he kept himself aware of his surroundings. So it takes a shot to the head to kill them. He thought, as he used the opportunity provided by the creature to learn how to combat his potential enemy.

The Hive Ship activates its telekinetic powers once more, managing to deflect the torpedoes utilizing similar abilities to the Rachni. The Collective fleet presses on still, taking light losses via the Thanix cannons by comparison to the Turians.

Despite the Collective Troops hunkering in and luring the enemy to them, several were still dieing, while some managed to put up a fight.

The pilot looked at the kiwi incredulously, as if annoyed. She hands the drawing to the kiwi, as if emphasizing it.

Cross was annoyed, at first, to the interruption, but then intrigued by the report she overheard. She remained silent, however, waiting to see if anyone would even remember her presence and what they would say in explanation.

Over several days talks have been taking place between the Hutt empire and the forces of Ryan Skywalker, well the talks have been taking place the blockade has hold and more contraband seized. The two sides are expected to come to an agreement soon.

Ryan over the FLT comm to his forces: Brothers, sisters, soldiers all today is a grate day to day we have broken the will of the Hutts the have agreed to cease all illegal activity's in the grater galaxy and have agreed to start forming official company's providing goods and serveries to the galaxy.

Upon being made aware of the recent arrivals Admiral Renas rushed to the bridge of his Assertor-class flagship to issue fresh orders. "All ships, cease fire! Do not fire unless fired upon!" Renas shouts, before continuing "Now, with that out of the way someone get me Bastion."

x Admiral, this is Grand Admiral Yrks. I take that they are not good ones?
o Indeed not, Grand Admiral. The enemy has acquired reinforcements, in the form of what appear to be an Imperial Guard and some sort of Supership. Relaying what combat data we have now. I strongly suspect that if we continue we'll have a full scale war on our hands.

"Well, apparently we get to sit tight in a battlefield while the politicians have a nice chat over tea," Renas exclaims exasperated. "Anyhow, all ships target your primary weapons on that pompous excuse for dreadnought but continue to hold fire unless fired upon. Also, attempt to regroup if that seems viable."

The scythe collided with the sniper's midsection. He had the wind knocked out of him and fell to the floor, but luckily his armor had saved him from serious injury. He then proceeded get up and start running again, knowing that the armor would not sustain another forceful hit like that.

The captain also left to return to his ship to tend to matters on that end and to get into contact with his superiors about the recent developments.

E7-81 1IC

After the Captain had left the remaining Red Faction personnel and Insurgent forces left to deal with their assigned tasks. Those that were not a part of any of the tasks given out gathered in the same hangar that the Directorate shuttle landed.

Meanwhile, the troops sent to Engineering to find the fate of Hadron Squad found the charred remains of half the squad as well as one survivor. They worked to gather the bodies that remained to be taken for a proper burial and to get the survivor immediate medical care. Other personnel worked diligently placing Krakatoa scuttling charges around the ship and removing the ship's Black Boxes.

Another group, under General Kaidan's command, worked to prepare for the cut as they shut down the gravity for the entire ship and depressurized the sectors around the Shield Generator down to the keel. They then began their hours-long work of labor to extract the generator. Any personnel from the Directorate sent to help would be led down to the generator and instructed to wear Envirosuits.

Munzel frowns, but nods regardless. He looks to his squad for a moment, before looking back at the Guide. "Very well, then. Show us how to get to the 'Rune'... And how to leave this place." The squad was somewhat uneasy, being forced to perform a deadly task for some strange artifact that was probably a myth. But, that was their lot in life as soldiers. They were ready for the task ahead, even if they didn't understand why they were doing it.

"As I guaranteed before, I will provide guidance." The man said, as a door at the far end of the apartment opened up to allow them passage. Without a word, the man walked ahead of them through the door into a stone passage. Unlike before, where the stone was lightly weathered and clean, this stone was very degraded, with vines and other weeds sprouting amongst the misplaced tiles and bricks. "This was the home of the lord over all, but master over none. Time answered to him much as he answered to time." The man spoke in a riddle.

Jaxe came down with the scythe on the man as he tried his luck again, aiming to impale him.

"It is good that you made it here, Admiral." General Cross said, turning around to address his new company, taking his "claw" as a handshake and responded accordingly. "As for a briefing, perhaps you should look for yourself." He said, stepping to the side so that the avian could observe the digital real-time strategy board. "We have them tied at three fronts, but we can't seem to gain any ground. If we try to flank them or land forces behind their lines, we end up opening more. Which is, again, why there are three fronts rather than one. I do have a plan, however. A smaller force may go unnoticed, especially a force that they don't expect to enter the battlefield."

The kid is more lucky than I remember... Araman thought, wielding his sword once more as he walked over to where Daniel lay. "You can get up kid. Apparently you have some fight left in you." Araman was halted, however, by a powerful barrier conjured by Lara. "... I have no quarrel with you, only him." He said, slicing past the barrier.

Daniel stayed motionless, only staring upward for a brief moment, then he got up quickly, but calmly.
"I have more than that, you son of a [censored]." Daniel replied in a low, dark tone. Although it wasn't particularly menacing coming from him, the tone was still extremely uncharacteristic of this usually rather naive kid. He turned to see if Lara was still alright, then turned back to Araman and began walking at him as if he owned the beach they were standing on.

[Quantum Rain]

"Brave, if not foolish words for a child." Araman replied, unaffected by Daniel's sudden change in tone and behavior. "Although I am more curious as to how you're standing..." He spoke, conjuring ice crystals onto his sword and his arms, creating gauntlets of a sort. "But I doubt you would tell me. You never speak much of yourself." He flourished the blade, creating icy shards in the air where the blade slices.

Daniel drew a knife from his belt and threw it at Araman while he was taking the time to show-off his ice sword, wasting no time in taking the offensive against him. He then raised his shortsword, ran at Araman at a full sprint, and stabbed forward into him when he came close enough to him.

[Quantum Rain]

Araman deflected the knives as the crystal shards formed into an icy barrier, to which he leapt over and came down onto Daniel with his sword in hand, leaving a trail of ice in his wake.

Daniel brought his sword up and parried the incoming attack. The trail of ice liquefied when it neared his blade. In the moments as Araman descended to the ground, Daniel began focusing on that power he felt in the dreamworld. He dug down into the deepest reaches of his soul and willed that power to the surface.
He raised his hand and put it just in front of Araman's face at lightning-speed. Immediately, the air in front of Daniel's palm exploded into flames.

[Quantum Rain]

Araman was shot backward, but he flipped, his foot hooking onto the blade and pulling it away from him as Araman landed back on his feet. The smoke flew away as his face was mostly unscathed. He looked at Daniel and said nothing, he looked happy though, for some reason, as he raised his sword again. He waited for Daniel to regain control of his.

[Wynn]

Daniel was somewhat surprised that he actually managed to call upon that power, but he only paused for a second. He then concentrated the power into his palm. He created what looked like a fireball in his hand, but when he went to hurl it, it spread itself out and fizzled out nearly instantly. He had found the power, but he had no experience in using it.
Daniel swore under his breath and charged at Araman regardless. He raised his sword over his left shoulder, spun and crouched to slash at his foe's legs, before standing up and letting another burst of flame go off at chest-level.

[Quantum Rain]

Araman jump rolled to the side, using his blade to dissipate the fireball. When he landed, he slashed the air, conjuring ice shards that flew at Daniel. He followed up that attack by swinging horizontally at Daniel, holding nothing back and creating a wave of ice meant to impact nearly immediately.

[Wynn]

Daniel jumped and rolled to the side to dodge thee ice shards and saw Araman preparing for a swing. Considering he was too far away for the blade to actually touch him, Daniel was able to put it together in his mind what was coming. He put his hand up in front of him and fired off another plume of flames in front of him in anticipation of the attack. He did so early, though, the attack was weakened, but some of it managed to get through and chilled Daniel to the bone.
He kept his hand up, and willed the power with all the strength his mind would allow. A large stream of flame shot forward, consuming a large portion of the beach, but it was blatantly apparent that Daniel was doing a poor job of managing his power.

Araman witnessed as his initial attacks were consumed by what seemed to be nothing short of a miniature star, in terms of perspective. To that end, he reacted by gathering all of the water in the air and the nearby ocean and collided it against the flames, attempting to overpower the outburst with as much ice as he could gather.

[Wynn]

Daniel would power his fire against the attack, but he could see it faltering at a steady rate. He kept pushing himself until the ice was just inches from himself, then let himself fall backward under the attack. Ice shards tore through his skin, but as he fell under the attack, he shot another blast of flame under Araman's attack. Under the circumstances, Araman would likely have a difficult time seeing the counter-attack coming at him.

Araman was shot back by the flames that managed to pierce through the veil of ice and frost. While the attack persisted for seconds longer after Araman was caught off-guard, the ice and frost faded to reveal a beach that was not only made of glass, but frozen and shattered. Araman recovered quickly from the attack however, ignoring the burns on his human skin.

Araman would feel a distinct sensation from the burns other than pain: the kind of sensation that came from hellfire burns.
Daniel got up once Araman's attack faded and saw the glassed beach. He didn't show any emotion, but on the inside, he was shocked at the sight.
Did I do that? He thought. He only took a moment of respite, then raised his hand and put the palm toward Araman. He was hesitant to fire another blast, but he knew he may have to so he prepared for the possibility.
"Leave." He ordered. "Or I'll broil your [censored] like a salmon."

[Quantum Rain]

"And the beach as well, kid. I don't doubt your words, but I do doubt your intentions." He says, as if completing Daniel's own statements. He raised his hand again as a flood overcame the beach from the nearby ocean. It soon rained down frost and ice which formed and circled around Araman. "I will not leave until you can convince me." He said, as the frost and the ice grew thicker and thicker in density.

[Wynn]

Daniel gritted his teeth and sprinted at the ice storm. He did, however, run off to the side to position himself so that the only thing behind Araman is the ocean. He got as close as he could without being harmed then raised both hands.
"Go to Hell." Daniel grumbled. He willed with his entire being for the power in him to fly forth. He let a great torrent of fire go forward into Araman and the ocean. With the threat of collateral damage minimized as much as he possibly could make it, he let everything out, his anger and all.

[Quantum Rain]

Araman raised his other hand and another flood shot forth into the flames. With both hands positioned in front of himself, the full force that Araman had mustered battered against the flames. Water coursed into the flames and froze, attempting to sizzle the inferno out.

[Wynn]

The flames would be extremely intense and would equal the strength of Araman's defenses. He felt the power draining from him quickly, so he pushed the attack harder to end it as quickly as possible. He began to step forward into Araman's attack while still shooting fire at him.
"You've made a fatal mistake in staying here..." Daniel said grimly.

[Quantum Rain]

"In time you'll come to realize that there are no such things as mistakes, merely parts to someone's plans." Araman spoke calmly past the blazing inferno. He gathered all of the power that he could muster and unleashed it upon Daniel, manipulating the water and now conjuring his own, creating more ice and frost to counteract the flames. "In the end I hope to call you brother..." He muttered to himself, feeling his power drain rapidly as the magical duel started to come to a close.
