Justin Bieber = Out of Proportion
So, you all have probably heard of this "teen sensation" known as Justin Bieber. Well I personally don't give a crap about him, his hair style, the fact that he's gay....and the fact that he walked into a glass revolving door. So in my opinion, because there are no global catastrophes ATM (like H1N1 or economic failure) the media is focusing their attention on Bieber Fever and the fact that the media made a big deal over the fact Bieber accidentally walked into a glass door proves it. like who honestly needs to know that? I mean come on, I don't have a group of people following me around saying every last little thing I do to the world, I'd find it embarassing and insulting! And something else I like to think about...didn't we learn from the Backstreet Boys that teen idols just suck, cause they're great for like 2 years, then they hit puberty, their voice cracks and no one likes them anymore. Plain and simple, the media is out of control.

I am in total agreement. I wish the media would focus on something affecting the world instead of just one guy. It's not just embarassing, its also rather pointless.
Re: Justin Bieber = Out of Proportion
Well, the media system is like anything in North America and that is capitilist. And that means making money and things that make money are catastrophes, sex and celebrities. It's unfortunate that the system can't be based on truth and relevance, but I think that is in a way our fault as a people. The media does mold us into believing certain things yes, however, it is up to us to change that and we never do. People aren't interested in the truth. The media is like feeding an obeise man ice cream daily. The obeise guy doesn't need it, shouldn't have it, but he wants it nonetheless. The media does simply feed us what we want to hear. Something else people like to do is complain (we're all guilty of it, myself included). And something we complain about is the media. We're always so quick to judge, yet always slow to act. If we were quick to act an slow to judge, society as a whole would be better. And the media would reflect that. But as long as the truth isn't what the people really want, then the truth is exactly what they're not gonna get, cause the guys in media like all of us, like their money and why sell a product no one wants?
