The peaceful world of Aruna, a massive grassland world, peaceful, calm, harmonious... Until now. A shadow looms over the White Tower, the shadow of Death. Exitium's forces have already begun appearing here and there, a prelude to the counterattack he will launch against Aeon's transgressions into his territory. Already, outlying villages are overrun, and one of them in particular shall serve as the staging ground for the attack on Aeon's fortress.

"We are in position for the slaughter." A dark elf reported to the demon known as Araman. He waved the elf away, looking down at the city below. Exitium's forces waited for his signal, he knew this, and the unsuspecting townsfolk held no chance against superior numbers and power. Though today seemed to be off... different... or he may have been perceiving the ease of this invasion incorrectly. It doesn't matter, he thought, the fires of war will scar this world regardless. He sent out a fire bomb onto the town below, the signal for the attack to begin. The first wave launched, followed close by the second, and already he could hear the panic ensuing...

The first signs of trouble immediately showed up at the door to the room Wynn rented. People panicking, far off sounds of fiery explosions, and screams of death and the likes... they all turned the morning into a red dawn for the approaching horde of Exitium forces, which already moved to surround the city.

Wynn would stagger back from the kick, but would recover quickly and rush back into him and would plunge both her weapons for his thoat. "But that doesn't say much does it?" She replied. "But you're undead, you eat brains because you have none of your own."

"Quite the talker, aren't you, whelp?" He replied, glaring at her with flaming eyes. Several undead were already upon Wynn now, recovering from the shattered earth and tearing her apart from the keeper. He was laughing maniacally now, as the ground continued to shatter.

Wynn would simply deflect and parry a few blows from the zombies, but would not counter attack. She would simply let them fall into the fissures that would open beneath them. She would turn and swing her knife at the Keeper the first moment she got, however. "Quite the opposite. I don't generally talk to people if they're going to survive an encounter with me." Despite the fact she was outnumbered, she maintained a cold, almost machine-like emotionless attitude. She did not even seem a little impressed with what was going on.

After parrying a few blows, Wynn glared at him, and ran at him. She drew her bow as she ran so fast she moved like a bat out of Hell. She sprinted past the zombies, then jumped upward. She took aim as she rose into the air. Time seemed to slow down as she seemed to hang in mid air for a moment. Then she let the arrow fly straight for an eye hole in the Keeper's helmet.

For once in the entire battle, the keeper was surprised. He staggered, though not in pain or blindness, he staggered because he was caught off-balance. He ripped the arrow out and threw a shockwave at Wynn via his blade whom was likely charging by now. "You arrogant little WHELP!" He yelled, as the undead rammed after her.

Wynn would not have charged at the Keeper, but would be caught a bit off-guard by the shock wave and staggered. She deflected a blow from an undead with her gauntlet and used the same hand to stab a hidden blade into their head. She then fired another arrow at the keeper's other eye hole. "You're the one calling me a whelp every sentence. With a head as big as yours, it's easy to shoot it." She retorted.

Wynn would hold her gauntlets up to guard against the blade wave, but would be knocked back by it. She manage to land on her feet, however, and began working her way back toward the keeper. She would side step and flip over the energy blade's that came at her. She drew the short blades and put them together. As she reached the keeper, she spun around and appeared as though she were about to try and stab him. However, she would face him with one of her plastic smoke bombs and threw it straight for his head before splitting the staff in two and thrusting them both into his abdomen.

Wynn would jump back ward, landing upside down on her hands once, then pushing off and landing quite a distance back on her feet. "It's a good thing I'm not human..." Wynn shot back with a dark tone. She put the staff away quickly and drew her bow and a trio of arrows. She took aim, trying to focus on the spinning blades' speed and did everything she could to time it. She fired them when she felt that the arrows would fly true.

But the two arrows did only so much against the undead form as it charged at Wynn once more, seeking to through her off the edge into the earth's gaps. "All mortals will die." He spoke, oddly calmer due to the number of wounds he had sustained.

Wynn would draw arrows and fire them one at a time, slowly jogging back. "I'm no mortal." Wynn replied. "I'll still be breathing long after you're dead and gone." From time to time, she looked behind her to see how close she was to the edge. She fired one more arrow as he rushed him. She was mere inches from the abyss now.

That arrow ran true as the blades flew out at Wynn, spinning wildly towards her. And as the Keeper came closer and closer, one had to wonder how he would die.

"Wynn!" Matt yelled inside his mental duel with the demon. He knew what was going on, and his concern grew and grew with each passing moment. Araman punished his inattentiveness with another shockwave of pain. "Now now, mudblood. You better focus on your own survival." The demon taunted Matt.

She ran forward, and held the weapon with both hands and jumped at the keeper. As she reached him, she made a quick horizontal slash at his neck in an attempt to decapitate him.

Wynn would take the full fury of the slash, and would be cut and burned deep in the abdomen. She fell past where the Keeper had once stood, and hit the ground hard. Her sword fell astray, and she fell into a crumpled heap in pain. She slowly got back up and picked the sword back up. With sword in hand, she slowly limped her way toward Matt in hopes of finding the demon attacking him nearby. The pain was agonizing. With every step, she felt a new wave of burning pain rush through her. After what felt like an eternity, she was directly below Matt, looking upward.
"Matthias!" She cried futilely. She desperately wanted to help but had no way of doing so.

He said, as undead beings rose up all around the area, all a distance from him and Wynn, and totally surrounding them both. "How pathetic you two are!"

The whisps angrily attacked Araman, tearing his form slowly apart. "Ever." The whisps began tearing apart the ground and nearby people around both persons. "Hurt her again."

A wave of energy flew at the apparition of the demon in his mind, casting him out, and eliminating his undead forms as his physical body was cast downward into the earth below.

Matt landed gently onto the earth, but quickly collapsed, unconscious. The white glow that surrounded him dissipated, and the undead around the area disintegrated.

Wynn limped a short distance to Matt, holding her side as she did so. As she got close, she stumbled and fell to her hands and knees. She would pull her self over to him, leaving her sword on the ground behind her. She shook him, hoping to wake him up. "Matthias!" She cried. By this point, the fear of having lost him had helped her push the pain out of her mind. She shook him slightly with both hands. "Wake up!"

Matt did not awake, but he was breathing steadily, serenely sleeping it seemed. Though that issue was the least of Wynn's worries at the moment, as a hail of energy arrows rained down onto the undead bodies, ensuring that they remained dead. Following the arrows, several angelic warriors landed on the ground, investigating, and stopping upon seeing Wynn and her wounds. "Just as he said there would be." "It doesn't change the fact that he's a traitor." "No, but he's honest." They rose their weapons and pointed them at Wynn. "We have to take her and the boy with us."

Her hood fell back off her head, revealing one of the most cold, furious expressions they have ever seen. "You take another step!" She screamed, glaring them down. "and I'll [censored] kill all of you!" She hadn't had the slightest sign of fear in her eyes. They could almost see an insane blood lust in her eyes. She pointed the blade at every one of them. "FLY AWAY WHILE YOU STILL HAVE WINGS!"

Reas didn't attempt to dodge, as if knowing that Wynn would fall. He then looked up at the angels under his command. "Take her and the boy to the cell. Ensure you heal the young girl beforehand, however." He commanded, the angels bowing and following his orders to the letter.

Rain sat there, uselessly, solemnly. He couldn't think clearly, but when he heard a loud thud to the side, he looked to see an angel, tied up, unconscious laying there. He seemed... damaged... bruised. That was odd.

"How is it so odd? Everyone betrays each other, yourself included." The other him taunted, standing over the limp angel. "I wonder if he's one of your victims? He does seem familiar... Hmmm... oh yes, now I remember. He was the young one, perhaps the son of the one you killed? Perhaps?" Rain looked at his own apparition curiously, not understanding what he meant. "You don't remember?" The other asked, walking towards Rain. "You killed them both, after all. Pledging innocence to a crime you clearly committed. How very ignorant of you, when you left the magic user to die, and then killed the older one for 'betraying you.' Ahahahahaha! It was marvelous..." He leaned down, taking the face of Roix. "I do wonder, why did you leave me to die?" It said, mocking him, mimicking Roix's voice.

"I AM NOT!" the apparition seemed to take offense. "How dare you accuse me of lying! You're the one that stabbed the elder one for 'abandoning you'! You're such an ignorant piece of [censored] that can't get his own self together. No, instead, you need me to do it! Useless bastard..."

It was almost an hour later that Rain saw two more thrown into the same cell. One was awake soon afterwords, a boy. He looked familiar, but Rain couldn't tell. The other was an older girl, and both seemed to have seen battle recently. He stared at them, hiding in a dark corner, but the boy seemed to know that he was there. After looking to see if the young girl was alright, he set himself to stare directly at Rain, equally as quiet.

"Well, that's certainly new, wouldn't you agree? Kids fighting wars..." The apparition taunted him, sitting next to him and staring at the two kids, occasionally glancing over at the angel. "I wonder what's next... giant killer worms, perhaps?" "Shut up." Rain whispered, tired of the apparition's ceaseless conversation. "Shut up? I would if you could THINK FOR YOUR DAMN SELF... piece of [censored], I tell you, that's what you are..."
