First topic message reminder :
Raal smiled, his horse standing next to him, as he motioned for his undead sailors to weigh anchor. Raal quietly complimented himself on this new usage of his undead - the motions for sailing were far too difficult for those foolish necrolytes and death knights of his home world to properly cause an undead to perform. Not for Raal, however, who had long ago figured out the art. Of course, now to see if he was truly a match for Gul'dan, as he pointed his truncheon at the front of the ship. He'd been building up energies and incantations for weeks now, in the hopes of causing this. dark energies shot downwards, partly channeled by his own undead's energy stores, as a deep rumbling came from below. He hoped he'd learned well how to do this spell from assisting Gul'dan in the past, as the water shook and shivered, creating large waves. Minutes later, after much tumult and chaos, Raal had finally finished his spell. moving forward, he smiled, his undead behind him, as he claimed his new island.

agentaaa wrote:The water seemed whipped into a frenzy, to the onlookers' eye, as the waterfront encroached near the fortress, the water now at High tide. Raal watched, as the water moved endlessly, inexorably. it had a purpose, it knew it, and it did it without question or complaint, day after day. Raal envied that, a ruler of an empty fortress - save her, he supposed. He still didn't know the nature of her or her resistance to his death coil. He supposed he would go and ask, attempting to stand up
only to find one leg decided not to listen to him for a couple seconds. Falling, he narrowly caught himself with his hands. His control on this body was beginning to fail, and he knew it. He only wished, now, that he knew exactly why this was true.
Suddenly, he felt a magical surge of energy heading towards him, and, ducking behing the battlements, narrowly missed being incinerated by a volley of flame, the attack exploding as it hit the tower that had been constructed in the fortress, and breaking part of it's side off. "who dares!" Raal yelled. Here, at least, he knew his purpose exactly, looking outwards to see the gigantic creature that was responsible poking his head out of the water and screeching. Striking forward, it attempted to ram the wall, before stopping as raal shot a large fireball at it. The snake stopped for a moment, ate the flame in a swift biting motion, before spitting it back out at Raal.
Arina was still in the bed when she heard the chaos beginning to erupt outside. She stayed motionless for a moment, then she quickly jumped out of the bed and ran over to her sword and helmet. She put on the helmet and kept her sword in her hand before rushing out the door to see what was going on. When she saw the snake, she would hurl a crimson fireball at it.

Re: Alpha
The snake would stop, regarding the fireball, before opening it's mouth and eating it. Before it could fire it out back at Arina, however, Raal hit it with another fireball to the midsection. "As I thought, while you're capable of eating my spells, you're not immune..." Raal said, calling his horse. He'd need to be more mobile to defeat this menace. Noticing Arina, as the snake began charging another swathe of flame, an idea came into his head. "let's just hope she hasn't decided to change sides." he thought, muttering an incantation. Instantly, Arina would feel a sudden glow around her, as her speed and reaction time suddenly tripled.

At first, she prepared to dodge, but was stopped when she felt the empowerment and stopped. After the light subsided, she ran at the beast swinging her sword before she even reached it. By doing so, she sent waves of chaos flame at the worm. When she reached the wall, she jumped up onto the top, then jumped straight up for the worm's face and fired another chaos fireball into it just above its mouth.

Re: Alpha
The snake took both hits to it's body without being able to dodge, screeching in pain, but neither blow bit too deeply into the titan. pulling itself and it's mouth back, black flames spilling from it's mouth, as anyone with sense capabilities could feel the strength inside the flame-strike. Raal shot a blast of Fire at it once more, but, while it struck true, it didn't stop the creature from charging. "Dodge it!" Raal yelled, wheeling his horse away, as oroboros fired a black beam of energy near Raal and Arina's position, a gigantic blast that vaporized most of what it hit, leaving a deep hole in the island itself. "Another blast like that and this Island might not survive!" Raal cursed, before muttering another incantation. It was time to get serious.

Having already been airborne, Aria would use a burst of flame to control her descent. She would fall toward the top of the snake's head. As she fell, she put her hand over her swords blade and covered it in chaos flames. The blade glowed a bloody red. She would land on top of the snakes head on her feet, but almost fall as it moved. She would quickly crouch to give herself better stability. In one quick motion, she then stood up, raised her sword over her head with both hands, and stabbed downward into the creature's head, causing it to both plunge down into the flesh, as well as cause an explosion of chaos flames.

Re: Alpha
Oroboros would attempt to run, already wounded, but not dead, from the massive explosion of flames, but would find itself incapable as it's movements suddenly slowed to a crawl, as a sickly aura of energy surrounded it, before several fireballs headed towards and burned it's torso, causing it to cry out in pain. It would nonetheless very slowly attempt to sink into the waters before it could be slain, though the chances of it escaping attack were very unlikely.

Arina would grab onto one of the serpent's horns as it tried to retreat. She conjured a ball of fire in her opened shield hand and absorbed it into herself. She positioned her self so that she was standing more on the left side of the creature's back, and channeled all the fire she absorbed into her blade. From a distance, it would appear as if her sword had been extended by the flames to the length of a small naval ship. She raised it over her shoulder, and swung wide into the creature, attempting to decapitated it. After the swipe, the flames would quickly die out, leaving her to wait and see if it had any effect.

Re: Alpha
Raal watched in interest as she Struck the beast, the creature unable to dodge away. "one less annoyance tonight, at least..." He muttered to himself, nonetheless relieved the threat had passed. "may I never see that creature again." he said, as Oroboros failed to be able to struggle against the strikes, the spark in it's eyes growing dim.

When the beast ceased to resist, Arina would jump down from the husk of a corpse. She would walk away, but as she did, the body of the snake began to burn. From a distance, Raal might notice a small flame on Arina's hand begin to glow at the same time. The burning snake would quickly be fully engulfed, and would continue to burn even as the waves of water washed over it. As the body was reduced to ashes, they suddenly stretched and wrapped around Arina, who still didnt seem even the least bit surprised. The flame that once consumed the snake were now glowing brightly on her and subsiding. Nothing remained of the invading creature, and the red flames around Arina faded.

Re: Alpha
"Interesting. I'll have to keep an eye on this one..." Raal said to himself, fairly surprise by what transpired. "I shall be in my studies if you need me this night. If you require nothing more from me, your quarters are intact, to my knowledge..." Raal told her, before galloping off to his own room filled with texts and books. if there's one thing he was taught by this incident, it was that to survive in this world, he had to do it. He had to master the lost art of the warlock.

Arina would nod after he said what he was doing. She would turn, stick her sword into the sand, put her helmet on the top of the handle as before, and look out into the sea. She stared out with an expression of minor annoyance with her arms crossed.

Re: Alpha
"...So Oroboros failed." Efah said, on a far away shore. "No matter. I'll find him again when he's resurrected." Efah commented, turning away, before vanishing within a dark portal.
Re: Alpha
After a couple of hours, Arina would return to the house given to her. She kept her sword in the sheath and set the helmet on a dresser near her bed. She got back to sleep easily, despite the battle that had just taken place.
Arina jolted awake in a cold sweat from a nightmare. She felt her head, the dream having been so vivid, she was worried that she had actually been hit. She sat up and held her head in both hands. It was still night, and she suddenly felt as if she was not going to get back to sleep. She shook her head and lied back down, staring up at the ceiling in the dark for a few moments. After a time, she finally got up and went back to the beach and sat on the sand. As the first rays of sunlight began to shone over the horizon, she got up and went back to the house and grabbed her helmet. She placed it on her hand as she walked out the door, and made her way back to the beach. She walked straight into the water, and kept walking. As the sun began to rise up over the horizon, she reached the edge of the island's reach. She took another step forward and sank to the ocean floor. With the armor protecting her from the crushing pressures and the helmet's enchantments keeping her from drowning, she began to walk the ocean floor as she had before the island was raised from the depths.
- "Dream":
- Arina was in a location that seemed familiar, but could not recall. The features of everything were 'blurred' too much to recognize perfectly. She tried to explore and move around, but felt her arms and legs held in place by something. She looked down, and saw she was being held in place by some kind of black aura. She looked forward and saw herself standing in front of her. Her other self reached for something on her back, then drew a crossbow that she recognized. The other took aim at her head, and fired.

Re: Alpha
Ardens grinned, walking up the ocean trench, seemingly without armor protecting him from the crushing depths, as he approached the knight. "Well, isn't this exceptional. It turned out my energy sensing ability isn't broken after all. There really was someone of power down in the watery abyss." He said, still grinning, seemingly unbothered by the water around him. "but that helmet - I wonder if you could continue to survive down here without it."

The knight would stop for a moment and just stare at him as if he were speaking a foreign language. It stood there only briefly, then continued onward as if he didn't exist.

Re: Alpha
"ahhh, so stoic, but I'm afraid I can't allow you to go much farther. Papa needs a new suit of skin, after all." Ardens says, grinning. "you see, I'm not properly bound here, at the moment, meaning, I need something to anchor me, since I'm not a fully corporeal being. I think your body might do nicely for someone like me, particularly with the power it's already absorbed that I can feel. That reminds me, you've apparently met an enemy of mine. Can you tell me if you've seen him? long hair, weapon with a chain on it, altogether all too loud. Will fight any opponent in front of him for no other reason than the fact that said opponent IS in front of him?" Ardens asks, speaking mockingly of Auger. "I've got some business with him, after all..."

The knight would keep going, not even acknowledging his words.

Re: Alpha
"interesting... no light or dark in this one. reminds me of Auger before I started screwing with him." ardens said, grinning to himself as he remembered some earlier memory. "no choice, then..." Ardens says, suddenly appearing in front of the knight, before drawing his lightbrand, the bright blade giving off a warm glow in the darkness.

By reflex, the knight would draw its sword. As it did, the sword, shield, and the knight itself burst into a great flame. The water around the knight would be evaporated at a fast enough rate so that the knight could move as if it were on dry land. The knight raised its sword to bear on Ardens.

Re: Alpha
Ardens smiled, or all three of them did, as Ardens used his own light-bending powers and the reflections of the water to create optical illusions. Charging Arina, one reflection would attack from the right, one from the left, and he himself would stab towards her midsection.

The knight would jump back a long ways, forcing them all to attack from the front. When the attack hit, she was able to feel the impact and tell which one wasnt an illusion. She would quickly counter by stabbing at him from behind the raised shield.

The shield would take the hit relatively well, Arina would slide back a little fr.om the hit, but managed to block it. She would then grab her blade with both hands, jump forward, and slash downward at Ardens.

Re: Alpha
Ardens, grinning, would push his hand forward and shoot off a beam of light into Arina's eyes directly, intending to blind, before blocking the likely-disrupted strike on his shield. "Too predictable." Ardens admonished.

The light would catch her by surprise, but it would not have as much of an effect as Ardens hoped. The sword went off course but would most likely graze him on it's way through the swing. She would quickly follow up with a horizontal slash back toward the direction she had started from originally.
