So on a completely different note, if you ever uncover a ten-year-old gateway computer that your mom used to own and planned on using it until you got your alienware laptop, lemme give you some advice. Do NOT, under any circumstance, even bother hooking it up. Use the 6 or 5 year old dell she had instead.

what ended up being the problem? things seemed to work fine last night? or get a router and use your supercomputer. You're gonna need a router anyways to use your laptop's internet

Everything was fine until I got those updates. Now the thing runs slower than molasses in January if I have more than two windows open. Maybe I'll just uninstall the updates.

And I am definitely working on the router problem.

ok, this is bad. I know I told Quantum I wasn't gonna be around much, but it's sad to see a forum that actually has potential (as opposed to those newb ones where they speak horribly and all that crap,) get worse over time. This place had a fair user base when it started, but this place doesn't even have a core group and i think that's the source of the problems here. It's not so much the projects and attractions we have, it's the core group. And just hopping over to FT:TUF (now EH) and sayng please be active here won't work either as they just look and say, if I'm gonna be active, might as well be at one place. Fortunately, most of the original core group isn't EH members so I don't think there's that to worry about.
But yeah, to sum it up, this place is ready and has been ready for ages, it just lacks the core dedicated group. Because even if you look at EH, it only exists because of a core group. it has a whack of other members who don't post, post once in a while sort of like who the "active" ones are here. Here, the lurkers are what we consider active, but it's not.

Now aside from Toa, Quantum an myself, no one has logged on since Wednesday and before that, Monday. That's sad. What's even more sad is that we have people that pop on, say tadaa, I'm back, I promise for the millionth time I'l be active now and then....nothing! Something I'm continually going over is why did FT:TUF work? Was it because of BM3? If so, that means you need a solid project as an attraction for people. Or was it because I got (at the time) two key members (Alka and Stewi) who was the founding of the inner core of the place. And because there was an inner core (albeit 3 people) it caused others to become involved beyond more than just lurking. Cause a lot of the regulars started out as lurkers because BM3 attracted them to the forum, but the inner core attracted them to stay and become part of that group.
So here's my proposal. Toa and Quantum (as you two seem to be the regulars) post the living S**T out of this forum. Don't just visit, there's no point, cause we know nothing's happened. Post. I'm gonna start a story-telling RP, those always seem to work too.

Now, I would like a 1,000 word essay on this lecture due by Monday at 4:30.

Well, I do suppose we learn new things every day, so that counts as school. But at least when you graduate, you're not around stoners anymore. (3/4 of my class are stoners.)

well, the real world has more stoners than school does. And no doubt you will find yourself on projects in life that require things like reports and junk like that

True and true. Hmmm, talking about stoners gets me to wondering why people get stoned in the first place. It's rather damaging to the body, yet people do it anyways out of what they would consider pleasure.

we are a race of destruction, remember that. Most of us are not strong enough to not cave into our vices. In fact, maybe all of us are not strong enough to not cave into our vices, we all have addictions of sorts, some not as bad as others yes, but still addictions.
