Agree with my math
Federation Vs Empire debate
First topic message reminder :
This is a cool program i found
http://www.stardestroyer.net/Empire/Science/Asteroids.html
by this calculator a full power phaser from the Enterprise D at optimal range could destroy an asteroid made of nickel iron with a diameter of 850 meter depending giving a Galaxy class star ship a firepower of 4.5 megatons
While one energy bolt from an ISD can destroy the same type of asteroid with a diameter of 591 meters that would take 1.5 megatons of energy
now just because an ISD's weapons are 2 1/3 that doesn’t mean the Empire is out of the fight I’ve calculated the total fire power of an ISD at somewhere around 42 megatons (28 TL's) where as a Galaxy class got about 36 megatons (8 phaser arrays)
heres the site with all my info http://www.st-v-sw.net/STSWhi2.html

Re: Federation Vs Empire debate
Would it be a 4 way brawl Fed and Klingon vs Empire Vs Rommies Vs Carddies
Re: Federation Vs Empire debate
out of curiosity (no I haven't read the whole thread) but does this have anything to do with the calender?

Re: Federation Vs Empire debate
you mean the calculator? Nope other than the comparative powers of the Epire vs the Feds
Re: Federation Vs Empire debate
how would the dominion and borg feel about this. i mean, the borg are always looking for new things to assimilate, so would the appearance of the empire set a full fledged invasion into action? The dominion might also attack, for much the same reasons as the cardassians and romulans.
how many people think nobody is going to win?

Re: Federation Vs Empire debate
i think the rebellion would team up with the Feds and Klingon.
The Romulans would be neutral for a while.
The Cardassian Union could go either way.
The Dominion and Breen would team up with the Empire.
And the Borg would attack everyone maby even an interesting sub plot on how the team up with the Zan Contortion (Spelling)

Re: Federation Vs Empire debate
to be truthful, I am a SW fan, and i honestly cant see the feddies prevailing because of manufacturing, numbers, and the fact that no matter how you put it, SW will win against ST in a battle of attrition.
Re: Federation Vs Empire debate
see theres you're mistake
this thread clearly states ST vs SW
not FEDS. vs SW
Imagine the borg assimilating a jedi, or any general of the opposing side they're gain all the knowledge needed top defeat them
Imagine Q against all the Jedi
and the fact that sw has short range weapons, while st has long range
sw uses torps to take out shields and lasers to finish the hull
st uses energy weapons and torpedos to take out hull and shields
sw has suncrusher armor as the uber armos
st has nuetronium which is practicly indestructable

Re: Federation Vs Empire debate
true, but this thread began and continued as an empire vs. feds
so i think we might stick to that war, for now.

Re: Federation Vs Empire debate
there now Tracer we are not counting any books from either or the games
Re: Federation Vs Empire debate
or the radio feeds, or the awful christmas special, OR the crappy ewoks and droids videos
Re: Federation Vs Empire debate
Okay new estaments on Empire's ship tally anywhere from
1,000 - 1,000,000 so lets go with 40,000 which is giving the Empire the rations as the federation
so now the empire outnumbers the Federation 4 - 1

Re: Federation Vs Empire debate
Ok then, what about manufacturing and reinforcements?
the empire certainly has more raw materials, and, well, people to build new ships, but i find the federation to be more advanced in their manufacturing procedures.

Re: Federation Vs Empire debate
Replicators vs 100x more people hmmm tough
It depends on the amount of industrial replicators the federation has

Re: Federation Vs Empire debate
i would say not as many as need to make it even with the empires large resources. After all, when you see a ship being built you see a fair bit of it done by people compared to just replicatining the thing.

Re: Federation Vs Empire debate
true enough, also, there is probably a few materials the Federation would need to find and create by hand, as well know not every material can be replicated. That is why they are able to use latinum as money. also, the federation needs to buy the matter the replicator transforms, which can get expensive when you are unwilling to overtax your citizens
Re: Federation Vs Empire debate
space hydrogen, particle from asteroids, ect.
low cost and you can recycle them
The biggest cost would be anti matter in my humble opinion

Re: Federation Vs Empire debate
Yes, the anti matter would be the limiting factor. Not only would they have to spend more to help contain it safely but it isn't ecactly the most abundant resource. I think the empire would have the edge in the production area. But i think tactics would be an interesting thing. They both have very different styles of combat and it would be interesting ti see them clash. Mainly that the empire hasn't really had a ongoing war for a long time to train their commanders. The federation have wars much more frequently.
