Aruna
First topic message reminder :
The peaceful world of Aruna, a massive grassland world, peaceful, calm, harmonious... Until now. A shadow looms over the White Tower, the shadow of Death. Exitium's forces have already begun appearing here and there, a prelude to the counterattack he will launch against Aeon's transgressions into his territory. Already, outlying villages are overrun, and one of them in particular shall serve as the staging ground for the attack on Aeon's fortress.
"We are in position for the slaughter." A dark elf reported to the demon known as Araman. He waved the elf away, looking down at the city below. Exitium's forces waited for his signal, he knew this, and the unsuspecting townsfolk held no chance against superior numbers and power. Though today seemed to be off... different... or he may have been perceiving the ease of this invasion incorrectly. It doesn't matter, he thought, the fires of war will scar this world regardless. He sent out a fire bomb onto the town below, the signal for the attack to begin. The first wave launched, followed close by the second, and already he could hear the panic ensuing...
The first signs of trouble immediately showed up at the door to the room Wynn rented. People panicking, far off sounds of fiery explosions, and screams of death and the likes... they all turned the morning into a red dawn for the approaching horde of Exitium forces, which already moved to surround the city.

Re: Aruna
Quantum Rain wrote:"Oh, hey miss, almost forgot." He said, tossing the sheathe at her. "The general store doesn't keep the sheathes for weapons like those on hand." Once she caught it, he nodded and returned to observing the rest of the potential customers. Matt was merely idly perusing the stock, noting some of the intricate patterns of some of the weapons. "... They decorate their weapons..."
Wynn would stare at the man for an extended period. ...how did he know i was going to the general store?... She put the sheathe on her belt, then pulled the staff apart and put the two blades into it. She stole one more look at the man behind the counter, then went over to Matt. When she heard him remark about the decorations, she replied, "Don't think into it." She drew her bow and one of the halves of her new weapon. Neither one of them were decorated, and were basic in design, then put them back. "The decorated weapons are for the people that need flashy looks to speak louder than their skills." She put her hand on his shoulder. "Come on, we need to get to the general store." There was a faint hint of urgency in her expression.

Re: Aruna
"... Something up?" He asked, as he followed her out of the store, glancing over at the man behind the counter, a curious look on his face before turning back to Wynn.

She put her other hand on his other shoulder, and pulled him closer and hugged him. Anyone would just think they were just happy to see each other, but she would very quietly whisper into his ear. "He knows we we're planning to go to the general store..."

Re: Aruna
"Yeah, he's a telepath, Wynn." Matt explained, seeming generally unconcerned. He glanced over at him again, then back at Wynn. "It's why he watches everyone like that."

"...Alright..." She responded, then pulled back and turned for the door. She would lead him to the general store. She pulled out a large hand full of coins and handed them to Matt. "Get as much food as that will buy us." She said. "If we end up having to hideout in a broken down building after a battle sacks the place, we're going to need it." After giving him the money, she would travel to the other side of the store and began browsing. She picked up a basket to carry the stuff in, and then put a couple boxes of matches in it. She also put plenty of magnesium powder into the basket. She also grabbed, surprisingly, a bag of ping-pong balls. The next thing she grabbed was a large box of party snaps followed by sugar and some rocket propellant. (OOC:think the things that are in the bottom of rockets someone launches off, then releases a parachute and floats down) She then grabbed some rope and duct tape, and carried it all to the front and waited for Matt.

Re: Aruna
Matt returned with four basket fulls of long-lasting food. "I hope this is enough, my arms are getting tired." He stated. "Well... at least I'll make that store clerk's day." He said, as the clerk came around the corner from the back, and stopped. "... Is that everything?" She asked.

"Have you seen the soldiers outside?" Wynn replied. "I actually might come back later if I'm convinced it's going to be worse than they're already making it obvious it's going to be." She would help Matt put the baskets onto the counter and let the clerk take inventory.

Re: Aruna
The clerk nodded, as she checked and counted the inventory's total cost at quite a remarkable speed. "... 397 aurums." She finally said, and it almost looked like Matt had a heart attack at the cost. He handed out his part of the funds regardless.

Wynn would stand silently for a moment. She pulled out the bag, and poured out a bunch of coins and added onto the amount Matt had had. She hoped the clerk wouldn't ask about all the money they had and would just count out the amount that needed to be paid.

Re: Aruna
"... You're ten coins over." She said, quickly counting through the excess of money. She didn't seem to be concerned that they had so much, likely many were spending such ridiculous amounts lately. She handed them their change and took the rest, placing it in a large bag at the back of the counter. It was one of several bags... several people had been spending such masses of currency.
Re: Aruna
She took the change and nodded. "Thanks... and good luck." Wynn said, picking up three of the baskets of goods they had just purchased after putting the bag back in her pocket. She would lead Matt to the Inn she had originally planned on going to. She walked up to the manager's counter and set the baskets down. "We want a room... in the basement if possible." She said.Quantum Rain wrote:"... You're ten coins over." She said, quickly counting through the excess of money. Re: Aruna
The manager looked at her, as well as the supplies they brought. "Uh, alright?" He says, getting the keys to her requested room. "It will be 100 aurums the first night, 50 for each one after. And sign here, please." He said, sliding a book towards her.

Wynn would stare at the book briefly. She swore under her breath, but kept it quiet enough so that the manager didn't hear it. She quickly thought about all the people she knew in her original world and synthesized an alias. She picked up a pen, signed the name 'Shareynna Noel', and put the pen down, as well as 100 aurums to cover the cost of one night. "I'll pay you tomorrow if we decide to stay longer..."

Re: Aruna
"Very well, enjoy your stay." He said, handing her the keys. "If you require anything, the staff will be happy to aid you." He suggested, looking at the excess of baggage they are carrying with them. Matt was scanning the area, not truly paying attention to the conversation.

"It's alright." Wynn said picking up the baskets with ease. "We can get it." She took the keys and led Matt to the room in the basement. It wasn't the most luxurious room, but it also wasn't the most trashy room. It had two small beds a short distance apart with a small dresser between them. There was also a wardrobe in the corner of the room opposite of the door. She walked in and held the door for Matt with her foot. After he walked in, she let it close, then set the baskets down and sat on the bed. She pulled her two brand-new short swords out of the collective sheathes and looked them over.

Re: Aruna
"You and your weapons..." He said, rolling his eyes as he went to organizing the baskets into groups and placing them in practical locations. Wynn's purchased tools went onto her bed until she decided what to do with them. The food went atop the dresser, while any other items were placed in a corner close to the door.

"..." She didn't know how to reply to the remark, but she would stop, as if she were trying to think of how to respond. She decided to just brush it off, and then put the swords back into their sheathe. She would walk over to a small table and begin taking the equipment off her person. She put the bow, her quiver, and the swords all on the small table. The only things she kept on her were the robes, her belt, and the dagger. She finally pulled the hood down and let out a sigh. She sat on her bed for a moment, and took the basket Matt had set on it a few moments ago and set it on the floor near the wall. She stood there a moment and turned. "Hey, Matt, do we have any newspaper or anything that i can use as an alchemical workspace?" She inquired.

Re: Aruna
Matt stood up, thinking for a moment. "... No, I don't think we do... You'll have to improvise, sorry Wynn." He replied, counting supplies and mentally recording their current state of affairs. 400 aurums left, food for a month and then some, weapons, and alchemical supplies... hmm.

He replied, counting supplies and mentally recording their current state of affairs. 400 aurums left, food for a month and then some, weapons, and alchemical supplies... hmm.
She took one last look around the room to see if there was anything she could use. "Well, i guess they're going to have a mess to clean up." she said matter-of factly. She would sit on the ground cross legged and pull out the chemicals and ping pong balls. She would use her hidden blade to cut the balls in half and set a pile of the plastic hemispheres aside. Let's see how well I remember how to do this... She thought to herself.
She then took out the rocket propellant and sugar and set them down. She stood up and walked over to a cabinet and pulled out a large bowl and wooden spoon and sat back down at her make-shift alchemy lab. She poured the propellant and sugar together and mixed them together slowly until it was a dark gray color, and set that aside. While she was mixing it, she thought about the events of the day she just had... and that the soldiers outside signified that it most likely was not over.
She would then walk over to the cabinet and pull out a plate and set it down in front of her on the floor and began the tedious process of extracting the pyrotechnic rocks out of the party snaps and made a large pile on the plate and put that off to the side next to the rocket propellant-sugar mixture. She then opened the container with the magnesium powder in it and prepared a piece of tape and two plastic halves, and walked over to get a smaller teaspoon from a drawer and used it to scoop some of the exploding rocks into both halves. She took a couple spoon fools of her propellant mixture and the magnesium powder and put those in both halves. She carefully put the two halves together, and taped them shut. She repeated this process for a couple hours until she had thirty of the spheres, and none of the resources left. As she made the spheres, she wondered what Matthias wasn't telling her. What is he afraid of? She thought.
She got up and threw away all the empty containers, and took a satchel and put all the plastic spheres in it, then set it with the rest of her gear. She pulled off her boots and set them next to the bed, and then took her gauntlets off and set them on the dresser. She lied back on the bed, her hands cradling her head.
She sighed loudly. "I'm exhausted..." She muttered.

Re: Aruna
"... Something on your mind, sis?" He asked Wynn, not buying that she interrupted the silence so abruptly just to announce an annoyance of hers. During her entire crafting, he finished his accounting of supplies and moved onto the bed, meditating his powers. He sat there, cross-legged, just as his father had taught him. "Focus on the task, breath softly, and listen. Don't hear, just listen and you will know what you need to. Your problems will melt away as you delve further, into that deep ocean of serenity... but don't lose yourself, Matt. Focus." The voice of his dead father called to him from that same ocean, as if reminding, or even comforting him.

She just lied there silently for a moment, as if she was ignoring the question, but would reply a few moments later. "...I've only been in this world for a few days..." She said. "and today, too many things happened too fast..." She paused for a moment, her expression being one of confusion. "I only learned of these gods yesterday, and now here they are cramming demons, monsters, and dragons down my throat..."

"It could be worse. They could do it in person." Matt answered back at her comments of today's events. "... But I know what you mean... it was the same way the first time I appeared here." He followed up, empathizing with Wynn's predicament.

Re: Aruna
"..." Matt opened his eyes, removing himself from that ocean of serenity and staring straight at Wynn, searching her eyes almost. "... Confusing, honestly. Mixed with trying... hard to think when you appear in the middle of a battle... right in the middle of so much bloodshed..." He sounded distant as his mind played the recorded memory again.

Wynn would just sit there quietly, listening. ...Right in the middle of it?... and here I've been complaining about being here at all... She thought to herself.
