Aruna
First topic message reminder :
The peaceful world of Aruna, a massive grassland world, peaceful, calm, harmonious... Until now. A shadow looms over the White Tower, the shadow of Death. Exitium's forces have already begun appearing here and there, a prelude to the counterattack he will launch against Aeon's transgressions into his territory. Already, outlying villages are overrun, and one of them in particular shall serve as the staging ground for the attack on Aeon's fortress.
"We are in position for the slaughter." A dark elf reported to the demon known as Araman. He waved the elf away, looking down at the city below. Exitium's forces waited for his signal, he knew this, and the unsuspecting townsfolk held no chance against superior numbers and power. Though today seemed to be off... different... or he may have been perceiving the ease of this invasion incorrectly. It doesn't matter, he thought, the fires of war will scar this world regardless. He sent out a fire bomb onto the town below, the signal for the attack to begin. The first wave launched, followed close by the second, and already he could hear the panic ensuing...
The first signs of trouble immediately showed up at the door to the room Wynn rented. People panicking, far off sounds of fiery explosions, and screams of death and the likes... they all turned the morning into a red dawn for the approaching horde of Exitium forces, which already moved to surround the city.

Re: Aruna
The angel studied the situation with a suspicious eye, catching on to how purposeful Wynn's actions and movements seem to be. The man got back up, dusting himself off again. "So rude... I hate dealing with people of your kind." He muttered again, walking off... forgetting his coin bag or why he was there to begin with. The bystander left, but the soldier remained. "... Who are you?" He asked, getting too curious now.

She would not turn to face him. She continued to watch the man walk off, and spitefully remarked, "A commoner."

Re: Aruna
"Hm." He stayed a moment longer, studying this unknown, hooded character. And then he walked off, not saying another word.
... She's taking longer than usual. Matt thought as he sipped his tea. It was an odd, mint and herb mixed tea, a favorite of the locals it seemed. "..." It usually only takes her about fifteen minutes... What is she doing? Threatening the rich guy again?

Wynn would walk over to where the coin purse had fallen, kick it off the ground, and catch it in her left hand, and stare in the direction of the rich man that had walked off, glaring in his direction. Then a faint smirk of triumph crept up on her face. She would turn and walk around and check in a couple of restaurants for Matt. She would spot him, then sit down quietly, and set the bag of coins down on the table, still wearing her faint smirk. "Nobles," she began. "give them a reason to worry about their social standing, and they forget that they've lost something."

Re: Aruna
"... You threatened him again, didn't you?" Matt said, now sure of why she was taking so long now. He pushed a different glass of the same tea towards Wynn.

"..." She had a little laugh over his remark. "You know me too well." She replied as she took a sip of the tea. She would set the cup down, and open the bag to see how many coins were actually in it. She slowly poured out the coins onto the table so Matt could see them all. "Is this a lot in these parts?" She asked. "I haven't been around long enough to know how valuable they actually are.

Re: Aruna
"... Well, we won't go hungry, that's for certain." Matt replied back, obviously stating its worth through his sarcastic understatement. "Did you get caught?" He asked, not trying to be insulting about it, really, but asked out of concern for the abnormal number of soldiers. In fact, it seemed more had arrived when a rather large patrol marched past the window.

Wynn had to think about it for a moment. "If you mean caught as in caught taking the money, no." She replied. "However, I created a confrontation. Tripped someone, made it look like I fell over, and the man who I tripped fell into my target and made him drop the money. Far as anyone's concerned, I just found it laying around." She finished as she took another sip of the tea. "I don't suppose there would be enough there to get a weapon at a shop and a room?" She continued after setting the cup down again. "If I run into that demon again, I want a weapon suitable to melee combat."

Re: Aruna
"We could always just buy the weapon shop." Matt offered, again being satirical about the money she just stole. "Or the plaza..."

Wynn's eyes lit up and went silent for a moment. "...how much did i take from him?..." She asked, somewhat concerned.

Re: Aruna
"A small fortune. I'm surprised he had that much on him and forgot about it really..." Matt said appraisingly. "There's gold lining the bag, seriously." He said, showing Wynn the intricate gold lining that went around the inside of the bag. "The bag itself is worth money..."

Wynn stared at it for a moment. She took the bag , and used her arm to move the coins off the table and into the bag just under the edge of the table and pocketed the bag. "We better keep how much money we have a secret, then." She stated. "Would be an odd picture, you and I, being rich enough to own the city..." She took another sip of the tea and sat silently for a moment. "Where do you think we should store the money?"

Re: Aruna
"You should probably hold on to that." Matt said, looking out as another party of soldiers marched by, with another mech walking behind him, carefully walking through the streets without incident. "..."

Wynn sat there for a moment. "...that didn't last long..." Wynn remarked plainly, drinking more of her tea. She had her eyes closed, and from what Matt could see under the hood, she was slightly annoyed. "...If they're after me, he just put a hit out on himself..."

Re: Aruna
"No, I don't think it's about us." He said as the party continued past them and back out of the tavern, taking another man with them. He seemed to be an officer that happened to be taking a light break based on how they escorted him. The mech and the other soldiers continued forward towards the castle courtyard. "... Well, let's go before the sun sets."

She would take one more sip of the tea and set it down. She stood up and waited a moment for Matt to stand up as well. "So, we'll go get the room, and then I need to make a quick trip to the black smith." She said. "I am not waiting to be prepared for a possible fight." She would sound as if she were still annoyed at the demon she had fought earlier.

Re: Aruna
"Right. Lead on." Matt said, finishing off the minty tea. "Hopefully, we'll avoid any trouble."

She would cross her arms and look out the window of the tavern. "Fat chance..." She replied. "We're not that lucky." She would lead him out of the tavern, and begin walking down the road toward an inn she had seen on her way to find Matt. She seemed to be hyper-vigilant, looking around and watching people suspiciously.

Re: Aruna
The military presence seems to have tripled in the last hour alone, and they displayed this might with several iron giants marching to the walls from the castle, and even two evrae's flying the skies above, joining the dragons further away. "I have a bad feeling about this..."

Wynn would stop a moment and look at all the military forces around them. "New plan..." She started. "We hit the blacksmith and general stores and prepare ourselves for a [censored] storm..." She would walk for the blacksmith, which was back in the direction they had just come from. She would lead Matt into the shop and would look around and take in the new environment out of instinct. "If you see something you like, don't hesitate to point it out." She said with a normal tone. She was both joking about how much money they had, but was also making a point of readiness for what may be coming.

Re: Aruna
"... You know I hate weapons..." Matt muttered, looking around out of curiosity anyway, but not selecting any of it to buy. The blacksmith in the back was hard at work, while the man manning the counter watched the people peruse the stock of weapons. Wynn wasn't the only one there...

Wynn would look around at the weapons that were available, and would walk to the counter and put her quiver and arrows down. She pulled a handful of coins out of the bag in her pocket without actually taking the bag itself out and put it down on the counter. "I want the finest arrows available here. I also want one of those double bladed staffs that can be pulled apart into two short swords." She explained.

Re: Aruna
The man raised an eyebrow at Wynn's request, but when he saw the coins he complied. He brought out a rather large amount of ebony-like shaft and excessively sharp arrows, along with the weapon she asked for. "We've been getting requests like that all day... hope you give whoever you're fighting some Hell with these." The man said, holding his hand out for the coins.

"...believe me," she started, as she narrowed her eyes. "Hell is a mercy compared to what I give them." She would put some coins in his hands, but if he counted it, it would be a fair amount more than what the stuff actually costs. Before he could say anything, Wynn would say, "Keep the change... something tells me you'll need it more than we will..." She would put the arrows in the quiver, then put it on her back. She would take the weapon and pull the two halves apart and look at them both a moment. She put them back together into a staff, and put it on her back as well. I'm gonna have to get a special sheathe to have on my hip to put the two halves in at the general store... She thought to herself. She would turn to Matt to see if he had actually found something he wanted, despite what he had said earlier.

Re: Aruna
"Oh, hey miss, almost forgot." He said, tossing the sheathe at her. "The general store doesn't keep the sheathes for weapons like those on hand." Once she caught it, he nodded and returned to observing the rest of the potential customers. Matt was merely idly perusing the stock, noting some of the intricate patterns of some of the weapons. "... They decorate their weapons..."
