Novam Initium - Page 4 Empty Novam Initium

Post by agentaaa Thu Jul 05, 2012 4:15 pm

First topic message reminder :

Shel wearily walked home, satchel of medicinal salves and herbs she'd collected ready to bring to her village. She sighed at the thought of what her village had become - and how she was now the last of the medicine women of her tribe. Warlock magics had taken definite root in her hometown, and while not everyone turned from the old ways in favor of the demonic magic, a good portion of them certainly had. "oh, all-father, give me a sign, something to show that not all is darkness, and that the light may yet glow and spread once more." Shel Pleaded, looking up to the sky, as tears ran down her cheeks, the stress building within the old orc woman finally being released.
Shel asked for a sign, and, seeing a twinkling in the sky, she soon wished she hadn't. A ball of flame and rock headed towards the planet, blazing brightly with an orange light. Hitting the ground, the massive meteor revealed itself to be incredibly large, creating a massive crater where it hit. though Shel was not near the impact site, the shockwave nonetheless shook her off her feet. Then, the crater, as quickly as it hit, seemed to disappear and crumble, as a massive blue light shot from the heavens, striking and dissolving the meteor in a massive burst of energy.
And that energy was what finally revealed the world of Novam Initium to the universe...

agentaaa wrote:"So, did we win...?" Onyx would ask. Kael merely slapped him in response. the slap could not truly hurt Onyx through his thick skin, but he still acted pained by it. "More importantly, where's he going? And why did he leave? Rorek, is that damage critical for him?" Kael asked.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The shaman readied herself, meditating in order to gain a strong connection to the spirits. "This... is my last battle, isn't it." The shaman said, though with her astral form, rather than her physical.
"Your sacrifice means much to the future." a head appearing from the rocks said, though none of the knights would see it.
"We will be with you, the entire time." the water seemed to swell in front of her, though none of the knights would see this either.
"It is time for your wind to die down into calm." the air seemed to whisper.
"Flames do not die, they simply become something different."

lastly, what appeared an orc, though in all reality something so, so much greater, appeared to her.
"I will be here to ensure safe passage. you will go to your ancestors, when this is done. Go, and make the last mark in the universe that you will. when all is finished, he will be waiting." the orc told her in a voice that could also have been a humans, or an elf's, or a dragon's, or all at the same time.
"Are you ready?" the spirits all asked her, seeming pensive. "The twilight of your life is about to turn to night.
"Yes." she rasped. "I'm at peace."
Time would resume for the woman at that last statement, and she felt the spirits all around her, lending her their power. She would not waste it.

Tsubasa was knocked back by this, but got up shortly after hitting the tree, raising his blade yet again. He would murmur something, and his blade would get an odd glint over it, before he charged yet again.

Rorek shook his head. "No..." He muttered. "The status quo just changed... he doesn't run from a confrontation out of fear or injury..." He would sprint after Tyrath.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

The knights would remain still. Regardless of the energy or apparent motions to prepare for an attack, they would not move. They almost seemed to be waiting for something. Then, a few moments later they began to back up with their shields raised, but they kept their gaze trained on the Shaman.
Out of nowhere, a heavy mass of metal and flame would smack into her from out of the air. While she was down, he would thrust the greatsword he carried with him into the Shaman's chest. Should it succeed, he would rip the sword back out at such an angle that would cause her abdominal cavity to burst open, causing blood to splatter on the ground around her.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

The knight would stand there, waiting for the attack. He would shout again as Tsubasa approached, "IISS!" A burst of extremely cold energy would deep-freeze Tsubasa if he failed to divert his motion, and in this case, the knight would kick the frozen man and break him free of the block, but also send him flying back against the same tree he had been slammed into a moment before.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Wynn would lead Fas a short distance into the trees, then she drew a knife. It was just an ordinary dagger, but a thin strip of dark blue, almost black, material could be seen lining the edges of it. She handed him the dagger.
"Stay here." She ordered.
She would walk out into the woods, then come back some time later carrying a bundle of twigs and a pair of small logs. The sun was going down behind a hill now, night was quickly approaching.
She would sit down and carefully begin stacking the wood into a carefully laid out grid formation, then put one of the logs on top of it. Then she would take her dagger back from Fas, and pull out a small metal block that had a dark edge made of entirely different alloy.
She would scrape off filings of the metal into a large leaf on the ground until she had a decent pile, then she tucked it under the pile of wood.
"Look away." She told him. She would avert her gaze, then strike the hard metal with the knife near the pile of shavings. Sparks would fly off of the metal block and onto the shavings, causing them to ignite to the point of being as bright as a miniature sun.
The blaze would spread quickly, and they now had a campfire.
Wynn would then walk a ways back from the fire and leaned against the tree. She still seemed entirely unconcerned with how soaked her clothes were.

Tyrath would catch the shaman in the chest, the old woman incapable of reacting fast enough, but any future reactions would be swiftly cut off. The old woman had always had a special affinity for the calm, thoughtful earth, and her instinctive reach of it made 20 feet of earth rise in a set of large diagonal spikes suddenly jamming forward into Tyrath a split second after he did the deed.should he be moved, the shaman would get up, smiling her own calm smile, as she called the winds to gust at violent speeds, a gale just short of a tornado-force wind blowing out at Tyrath and his subordinates.
Of course, the woman was no fool. She was too old for that blade in her stomach to be less than mortal. but she would hold this throng off, and, she noted, her own people were doing well in the fight against Exitium forces, though Oroboros was still fighting quite well.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tsubasa smiled, meeting the ice with his own cold scimitar. It glowed blue in the cool moonlight, but it was by no means affected by the attack. The scimitar grew much colder as a result of taking it in, but Tsubasas's grip didn't seem to shift - the scimitar itself was naturally cold, and only Tsubasas' natural cold resistance stopped him from feeling it in the first place "Sorry, but Everice isn't bothered by that kind of spell." Tsubasa remarked - before suddenly striking with a two-handed slash with the scimitar, the blade's sharp edge now quite capable of cutting through either armor or shield that got in the way.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Wynn would come back to find Fas both snoring and shivering, the cold water starting to get to him. He would avert his eyes as asked when it came to the dagger, but when the campfire started he would give a little cheer. Moving to sit by the fire, he warmed himself and his hands, seeming almost cheerful for once. then, suddenly, his face fell.
"The old woman is..." he stopped mid-sentence, putting his hands over his face.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Follow him, then."Shale said, suddenly right behind Rorek. Onyx and Kael were soon right behind them, though they realized they never saw shale initially move from that spot.

Tyrath's armor would be gouged by the earthen spikes, but the knight who had just attacked her didn't take even the slightest notice as if he was either completely numb or at all affected. As the whirl wind started, the knights would struggle to maintain their footing, all of them falling or stumbling... all but Tyrath who stood glaring up at the woman in her whirlwind with his burning crimson eyes.
"YOL TOOR SHUUUUUUL!" He screamed in three voices, one his deep, booming voice; an even deeper, more demonic voice; and one incoherent whispers that started before the other two and lingered and echoed longer. A stream of fire would fly from Tyrath and into the whirlwind, burning anything within to ashes, and creating a pillar of flames that would cause the fog within the city to retreat away. However, it would hardly be noticeable as night had already fallen. This inferno would be visible for miles around for all to see.

----------------------------------------------------------------

Rorek would spot a flickering light in the fog ahead of them. He would sprint, and suddenly the fog would receed around them as it raced away from the source. They would see a massive pillar of fire burning within the walls of a city.
"By Talos..." Rorek muttered. He would not stop running, but rather would speed his pace.

----------------------------------------------------------------

The knight would attempt to block the attack, but his shield would be slashed in half. He had just paid for his miscalculation. The blade would travel all the way through the knight's body and it would stand silently as its weapon and halved shield fell to the ground from his hands. The ice would begin to turn into a black mist that would just evaporate from where the being was, and in a short few moments the knight was gone.

----------------------------------------------------------------

Wynn stayed leaning against her tree some distance from the fire. She didnt move a muscle or so much as knowledge Fas' statement outwardly.
The night had fallen now, and the wind was becoming extremely cold. Wynn was soaked to the bone, and therefore it had to be even colder for her. However, she still did not move an inch from her spot in the shadows aloof to the fire and Fas.

"Brat." The shaman would say, panting, as the inferno cleared, an orb of water coalescing around the unharmed shaman - though, unharmed was perhaps a wrong word for an old woman who's knees were shaking and who's breaths came in gasps. "even if it's the last time I'll ever wield it..." The shaman said, as an orb suddenly expanded into her hand. the orb seemed to somehow be fire, water, earth, and wind at the same time, changing appearances so fast one would see all 4 almost at once. The energy it emitted would be potent, and recognizable as both elemental power and the shaman's life energy. charging it, she began uttering an orcish death chant, as she fired the little ball, which, despite it's size, would unleash a devastating strike on whatever it hit, directly at Tyrath. It would be apparent for both of them that the strikes used in this last exchange would decide the match...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Shale would suddenly pass Rorek, moving past him at blinding speed. His calm would be replaced, if Rorek managed to glimpse his face, with a look of concern and caring.
Kael would move on with steely abandon, but Onyx, focusing his senses there and feeling the loss of Orcish life, was horrified, moving his fastest as well. "no, no, no, no, not again...."

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Oh god, oh god, oh god, she was so nice to me, and now they've, they've, and it was probably because of me, oh god..." Fas continued, hyperventilating now. It seemed that, with the trauma of the day and the sudden shock from a relaxed state bringing it to the forefront of his mind, Fas had finally gone into what a conventional mind would have long ago and began to go into shock.

Tyrath would bring his sword to his side with both hands, then ran forward. When the sphere was fired at him, he would spin and throw all his strength into a ferocious swing, letting out an inhuman howl of anger. He imbued the blade with all the energy he could muster mid-swing. When the blade met the sphere, it would create a massive explosion that would yield a shock wave that would send everyone in the city flying away from it. Abyss Knights, Orcs, and even Tyrath himself were blown clear of the blast.

Moments later, the Abyss Knights would recover relatively quickly and begin looking for their master. They could sense him, but they could not see him. However, he would make his own presence known. A black, metal-clad fist would punch its way out of a pile of rubble then pull the body it was attached to out of the mess. Tyrath would stand up once he was free and looked at the destruction the colliding energies had yielded. He was holding just the broken hilt of his greatsword as he took in the sight of the ruins.
One the knights hurried over to him. "Lord Tyrath?..." It said, as if asking if he was alright. The knight stood silent for a moment, then he brought the hilt over his opposite shoulder. The broken hilt would turn into a black smoke. He would quickly snap his hand back to the other side of him, a stream of the black smoke trailed behind and thickened into what almost appeared to be a gravity-defying liquid. When he put his hand on the substance, it would change into his greatsword, now back in its full form.
"Where is Fas?" Tyrath inquired.
"He is not among these people any more," The knight said with a hint of regret in his voice. "Perhaps you could tap into the Shaman's memories before they entirely vanish?"
Tyrath nodded at this suggestion and walked toward where he last saw his foe, hoping to find a pile of ashes or a corpse.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Rorek would shout three words of power very quickly and sped up as well, using the Thuum to quicken his own movements. He would catch back up with Shale and he would run along side him until an extremely loud crash of thunder rocked the land, which brought him to a sudden halt. A small mushroom cloud would actually be visible rising up from the village they were after. Rorek's jaw would drop wide open.
"By the Nine..." He mumbled.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Wynn still would not make any indication of Fas' presence, except for a brief response.
"Get a hold of yourself, kid!" She snapped.
She remained leaning against the tree with her arms crossed. She knew she needed rest, but she couldn't just go to sleep while there were soldiers running amok trying to kill them.

Shale would continue forward, reaching the village where Tyrath stood not much later. He would stride into town, seemingly uncaring of the knights near Tyrath, looking directly at him. He seemed lax, but at the same time would give off a presence that would seem to intimidate even such mighty beings as the frost knight. "Was this all you, son?" Shale asked, in an even tone.

===================================================

Fas seemed oddly still, but after a couple minutes, he would suddenly jump up and run out of the camp, as fast as his legs would carry him, in an entirely unexpected move.

Tyrath would not acknowledge Shale's presence and would crouch down next to a small bit of ashes that hadn't blown away yet. He held them in his metal hand, then turned to the knights that were keeping an eye on the newcomers.
"They went north," Tyrath stated to his knights. "I want the child dead, you can decide what to do with the others." The knights would turn and take one last look at Shale, then head out.
Tyrath stood up and turned to Shale, giving off a murderous vibe of his own. He took a look at them, as if contemplating reengaging them here and now. He looked down at his hand which he clenched into a fist, a black aura glowing around it, as if he were displeased. He then turned in the same direction the knights were headed and flew away with firey wings once more.

Rorek considered dragon shouting at him, but decided against it, seeing as the frost knights that had just left would likely come running back to aid Tyrath. However he would then speak up and say, "He said they went north, right?"

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Wynn would quickly jump up from the spot on the ground she had been sitting on and sprinted after Fas. She would move at lightning speed, likely much faster than Fas would manage. When she caught up, she would tackle him and eject a wrist blade from her left gauntlet and put the tip at the base of his neck.
"The gods here want something from you," Wynn scolded in a low tone. "If you want to go running to them, that's your business, but if you put my life in danger by running into the night and give away our location, then I'll make sure you never have to speak to me again... ever. Understood?" She while she kept a calm and cool demeanor, it would still be apparent she was livid that he had just run off.

"follow my trail as best you can. The same goes for the others." Shale said. To Rorek, it would appear as though he had teleported, already out of the burning wreck and leaving a large trail of footprints. he would be moving at the same speed as Tyrath himself, trailing just slightly behind him.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"I-I'm sorry. I didn't think..." Fas mumbled, apparently not thinking through any of it. finally, he just sighed, shaking. "Why is this happening? Why are people after me? Why did you save me? I'm nothing, I'm noone." he said, with some frantic emotion in his voice.

Wynn would retract her wrist blade, then pull Fas back to his feet by the collar of his shirt and give him a shove back toward the camp.
"I don't know what they want from you, but I intend to find out." Wynn replied in a dark tone. "You may not be a prisoner here, you'll be relatively comfortable... but I'm not going to let you run off until we figure this out. Is that clear?" While she had asked a question, it would be understood as more of an order than an inquiry. She would look up at the sky with an expression of discomfort that Fas could faintly make out through the darkness and the shadow of her hood. Something wasn't sitting right with her.

As the two of them started back to the camp fire, a bulky knight slammed into the ground in front of them. It had fiery wings that were wrapped around him, but the pitch-black armor under the flames was still visible. It quickly stood up and opened its wings, letting out an inhuman cry of rage. The roar was so strong, in fact, it would blow them back off their feet. Wynn got back up fairly quickly, and pulled Fas up.
"BY TALOS, GET THE [censored] UP AND RUN!" She shouted at him. She grabbed his arm and practically dragged him behind her.
"FO KRAH DIIN!" The knight shouted behind them. Wynn heard the words and quickly threw Fas behind a tree, and was engulfed in a blast of extremely powerful frost magic. However, much to both the knight's and Fas' surprise, she was perfectly unharmed, granted there was a literal layer of frost on her skin and clothes, and even some hard ice just above one of her eyes.
"OFAN JOOR, FAS! (GIVE ME THE MORTAL, FAS!)"
Wynn gritted her teeth. "NAHLOT! (Shutup/Silence!)"

Fas stared, surprised by the sudden knight's intrusion. He cried out when Wynn was hit with the freezing attack, only to be shocked when she emerged from the attack entirely whole. "So... is she also abnormal?" He thought to himself.

Tyrath, while he had been speaking in the dragon language himself, was not expecting someone to actually reply in the same language. Much less, in such a disrespectful manner. He roared at her and shouted once more. "FUS RO DAH!"
Wynn dove aside behind the same tree that Fas was behind. When the blast went past them, she grabbed him and pulled him behind her as she sprinted away from the knight.
"DAAL, JOORE! (GET BACK HERE, MORTALS!)" The knight screamed as he prepared to fly after them.

Fas did his best to keep up with Wynn, somehow knowing that, somehow, someway, he needed to get away from this creature. "why does he feel so... wrong?" he mumbled to himself as he was pulled along by Wynn.
Tyrath would suddenly find himself held down by a large amount of strength, as he prepared to fly once again. if he managed to check, he would see a rough, calloused hand on his shoulder, which still held more strength than any of this universe Xaldius could currently compare it to.
"Sorry, I'm afraid I can't allow that. Mind playin' a little with me instead?" Shale said, with a lax expression.

Wynn didnt stop running but shouted at Fas when she heard him speaking. "Shut up and run!" She was running as fast as she could without leaving Fas behind. She drew her bow and and arrow, and watched through the shadows of the trees as carefully as she could while they ran. While most wouldn't see that far, she could see very well in the darkness.

Tyrath let out a roar of anger and bashed Shale with the side of his gauntlet, which had blade-like protrusions that would slice through flesh very easily. He would immediately follow it up with a swing from his greatsword in the other hand.

Shale disappeared in a gust of wind, as Tyrath went to bash him, before blocking the strike with the sword with a one-handed grip upon his own Katana, the fragile-looking blade stopping Xaldius's strike without much effort. Shale seemed unmoved and unstrained by it. "You seem t' have an awful lot of hatred - t'wards everything, in fact." Shale said, his expression a blank mask. "What drives creatures like you to such lengths?"

Tyrath didn't even give Shale enough time to finish, he was already flying at him with his sword at his side. He channeled his abyssal energy into it, but was engulfed in an explosion mid-air out of nowhere. He recovered before hitting the ground and made a three-point landing, sword to one side and prepared for a counter-attack. He looked up at the source of the attack and saw a black knight putting a crossbow on its back as it emerged from the shadows. His blood began to boil as he recognized this newcomer. The knight drew a silver sword in one hand and slightly raised its shield with the other. Their gazes remained deadlocked for a few moments. Neither one said a word or made a sound, but the air became far more intense. Even Shale would feel the bad vibes between them, despite not having any previous knowledge of either one.

"w-w-w-w-woah! Arina, you could kill him with that, we don't even know h

"sorry, your objective is a little farther than here." Shale said, standing in-between Tyrath and the knight for a scant second. extending his hand, shale created a sharp gust of wind that would blow Arina back in a similar manner to Fus Roh Dah, but gentler, as the air almost seemed to form a cushion around her. She would end up softly impacting a tree some tens of feet away. Sona would immediately rush to her aid, moving so fast he would flicker a few times between jumps. "you okay?"
"Shale..." Aaron said, unsettled. his grip on his blade was slack.
Whilst fighting Tyrath, Shale would yell out. "he's somewhere near here. I don't know how safe he is, but I know Exitius and Chaos are after him. Y'all are decent folk, or at least I know some of ya are, so if you could maybe keep 'im from dying?" Shale told them, at the same time...
Shale would approach Tyrath calmly, seeming to walk a step to the destroyer.
Then, he would simply appear in front of Tyrath, katana held high, and slice at close range directly downward at his shoulder

Arina would stagger and nearly fall backward, not expecting the force. She nodded when Sona asked if she was alright, then stood back up. She looked in the direction they were going to head in, then look back at Shale and Tyrath, an obvious urge to stay and fight showing in her body language. However, she reluctantly began moving away from the fight.

Tyrath quickly brought one hand up and parried the katana with the outside of his gauntlet, then thrust the greatsword forward quickly in a very vicious riposte that would be difficult to deflect or block.

Shale simply turned aside from the strike, before using his own dexterity to change his katana's position to a stab to the side at the exact same time, moving backwards at a rapid rate in order to stab with his blade directly for Tyrath's hip.

Tyrath spun aside of the sword, bring his greatsword in both hands over the shoulder that would be opposite of Shale, then swung with a heavy horizontal swing, strode forward, then spun again, this time bringing an uppercut with his sword as a follow-up. The pair of attacks would be fluidly strung together in one motion.

The spin would be all Shale needed, however - by the time that Tyrath had readied his sword, he would already have moved from one side to the other side of Tyrath, striking with a wide slash to Tyrath's body with both hands, a strike that would take only an instant to complete. the wind-enchanted Blade Shale carried would be able to cut through any armor in the way without much pause, either.

Tyrath would choose to take the swing, having no way to feel pain. The blade would leave a gouge in the living suit of armor, but he would put his hand forward very quickly and cause the area in front of him to spontaneously explode. A large metal plate would fall off of Tyrath's body, but he did not seem to take any notice of the damage done to him.

"Now, now, that's dangerous." Shale said, appearing behind him, the wind seeming to blow with a cool breeze as he did so, before he struck outward with his katana, the blade itself not moving, but a solidified amount of wind stretching out from the slash, able to strike with the same force, and moving quickly to hit Tyrath's back.

The wave was quickly dispersed as Tyrath turned and slashed the air rupture just before it hit him, sending his own at Shale in the process. He would also stab his sword into the ground, sending a tidal wave of fire all around him at high-speed.
